About

Description

This is an expanded port of this mod here by MacTso.

Note: Anyone who used this mod prior to 2.3 must update or delete their biomes.config as it's been refactored.

The main premise is that as you travel outwards in the world, things get harder but more rewarding. There are also grim citadels which corrupt the land & make mobs in the immediate area corrupted & stronger as well.

I maintain almost full feature-parity with the original mod. The only main feature lacking is chest having more rewarding loot as you go further out. I also left out most of the anti-cheese as I found that stuff better suited in a separate mod of its own.

With that said, I've worked long and hard to bring an expansion to this mod that will re-invent the way Minecraft is played.2.0) - requires manual configuration; by default everything is vanilla behavior

For instructions, check out the wiki here

With this expansion, biomes, structures, ores, and mobs are tied to difficulty. This means the farther a player goes out, the more they'll see. This gives them even greater incentive to face the dangers of the far out lands!

A split in the word

A split in the word

Mod compatibility/notes:

  • The "Let's Do: Meadows" mod seems to "hijack" some vanilla ores, so if you want the vanilla ore to gen, to be on the safe side, just include both the vanilla and meadows alpine variant in your zones. (I'm not sure if this is an error with my code logic or if it's got something to do with how they implement their ores.)

A special thanks to:

MacTso: Tested and helped clear up confusion about his original mod as well as help locate biome-gen code.

Tropheus Jay: Helped out a lot with my code inquires & troubles.

Adubbz: Extended his api for me. I wouldn't be able to do modded biomes otherwise.

Quilt Community: They're just really helpful and nice!

Feel free to use this mod in your modpacks!
