Bored of the same old repetitive vanilla mineshafts? Ager's Amazing Mineshafts and Miner Companions includes a custom made mineshaft generator that will introduce new mineshafts that are much larger and much more varied. In these shafts you will find piles of ores, plus five new types of NPCs and mobs with special abilities.

Obsidian Spider

Only found in the depths of this mod's mining rooms. They're large, fast, and creepy. With 70 hearts of health and the ability to place web blocks in front and behind itself during combat, this mob should provide a challenge. Though not tameable, you can ride these spiders against their will as a brief respite from combat. When they die they have chance to drop a combination of diamonds and obsidian blocks.

Obsidian Bat (new)
Found hanging from ceiling beams in this mods mineshafts. They awaken in response to increased light, player proximity or being hit by projectiles. They attack players and tameable mobs  If left alone they will sometimes hang from ceilings and go back to sleep. Drops obsidian block upon death.

Rock Miners
When encountering a rock material at face height, will break any rock materials (of hardness 2 or less - stone, cobblestone, granite, diorite, andesite etc) in a short radius. Leave ores in the open for the player to mine at their convenience. Low health and poor combat abilities, but (unlike the other miners) will place torches in dark areas, lighting the way for the player. Tame with gold ingots and will follow player if gold ingot in hand.

Rock Drillers
Same mining abilities as Rock Miner, but has more health and is stronger in combat. Tame with emerald and will follow player if emerald in hand.

Armoured Rock Drillers

Only digs through deepslate. Will also break obsidian blocks if they are next to, above or below him. If there is lava directly beneath the obsidian he won't break it. Very strong health and combat abilities - immune to projectiles, immune to fire / lava, and explodes upon death (likely damaging or killing their attacker). Tame with diamond and will follow player if diamond in hand.

Rock Miner Zombie
Hostile mob. Not a strong fighter, but he will break through any type of rock material (with a hardness of less than 2) to attack players, villagers or animals. So you'll need some alternate defenses or stronger rock materials to protect your home if these guys are nearby.
