Description

I’ll write a CurseForge description that explains what Hitbox+ does for players, creators, and mod developers.

Hitbox+ adds animated body-part hitboxes to Minecraft Forge. It gives supported entities separate hitboxes for parts such as the head, body, arms, and legs, which follow their movement and animations.

This allows combat and targeting systems to detect where an entity was hit. Other mods can use that information to create features such as headshots, weak points, or different damage for different body parts.

What does it offer?

- Animated hitboxes: Hitboxes follow supported entities as they move and change poses.
- Built-in vanilla support: Includes players, vanilla mobs, and the Ender Dragon, with support for model variants and entity sizes.
- Server-controlled hit detection: The server checks hits and shares hitbox profiles with connected players.
- Customizable shapes: Create and adjust hitboxes through profiles and datapacks.
- In-game visualization: Press F3+B to see active hitboxes.
- Developer API: Other mods can check body-part hits and add support for their own entities.

You can create custom hitboxes with the Hitbox+ Editor, a visual editor that runs locally in your browser. Start with a vanilla preset or import a supported model, then move, rotate, and resize its hitboxes. Preview animations and export your work as a profile or a ready-to-use datapack. The standalone editor works offline and requires no account.

Prefer working in Blockbench? The Hitbox+ plugin lets you edit hitbox volumes alongside your models, assign them to body parts, and export profiles.

Hitbox+ provides hit detection and body-part information. Features such as bonus headshot damage depend on the mod using that information. Movement and block collision keep Minecraft’s normal behavior. Custom modded entities need a compatible animation setup or integration to use animated hitboxes.

Install Hitbox+ on both the client and server, using matching releases. For custom datapack profiles, place the exported datapack in your world’s datapacks folder and run /reload.
