Description

Integrated AE

Attach existing Integrated Dynamics and Integrated Tunnels parts directly to Applied Energistics 2 cables. Item and fluid tunnels use connected ME storage, and parts on the same ME grid share an Integrated Dynamics evaluator.

Integrated AE adds no blocks, items, or recipes.

Getting started

  1. Build a powered ME network with item or fluid storage. Use glass, covered, smart, or fluix cable.
  2. Right-click a free cable face with an existing ID reader/writer or Integrated Tunnels part. AE2 parts can occupy other faces.
  3. Open the part's usual interface and insert your variable cards.
  4. Item Importers facing a chest move matching items into ME storage; Item Exporters move them from ME storage into the chest. Fluid importers/exporters work the same way with tanks.

For a quick test, put a Boolean true variable card in the tunnel's all aspect. No separate Tunnels storage interface is needed.

Connect existing Variable Stores, Proxies, Delayers, and Materializers to free ME cable faces, directly or through native ID cable branches. These blocks join the shared ID evaluator. Connecting faces must be free of parts and facades. Plain ME cables work even without an attached ID part.

Each attached part uses one AE2 channel and 1 AE/t idle power. Transfers also use normal AE2 transfer power. Parts pause when power or their channel is unavailable. Wrench removal preserves settings and returns variable cards separately.

Mono/omnidirectional connectors

Mount existing Monodirectional Connectors facing each other, or Omnidirectional Connectors from the same group, on ME cables. Native ID connector endpoints can participate too. Original range and group rules apply.

By default, these links also join the ME networks, sharing storage and power under AE2's normal controller and channel rules. Connector links do not gain dense-cable capacity.

Set joinMeNetworks = false in the server's config/integratedae-common.toml to keep ME networks separate. The linked ID network stays connected, and item/fluid tunnels access connected powered ME inventories. ME terminals, power, and channels remain separate in this mode, and each grid pays for its own transfers.

Installation

For Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge. Install on both the server and every client, with only one Integrated AE JAR in the mods folder. Dependencies are downloaded separately.

Dependency Minimum version
NeoForge 21.1.248
Applied Energistics 2 19.2.17, within 19.x
Integrated Dynamics 1.34.1, within 1.x
Integrated Tunnels 1.9.4, within 1.x
Cyclops Core 1.29.2, within 1.x
Common Capabilities 2.11.5, within 2.x

Install each dependency's requirements too, including GuideME for AE2. GuideME 21.1.17 was used in testing.

Current scope

  • All logical Tunnels item/fluid channels address the same connected ME storage; they do not partition ME cells.
  • Native ID cable branches share the evaluator while connected to ME cables. Detaching a branch restores its own ID network.
  • Energy Tunnels do not receive Forge Energy storage from AE power.
  • Dense cables cannot host functional parts. Wireless links require loaded endpoints and do not load chunks.
  • Autocrafting, additional ID addons, and other multipart hosts are outside this release's tested scope.

This release is a beta. Automated tests cover transfers, power recovery, placement, removal, persistence, native blocks, and network changes. Client resource loading and title-screen startup are smoke-tested; full modpack compatibility and every in-world rendering/GUI combination are outside that check.
