Description

Jack-o'-Heads

Jack-o'-Heads gives your Java world a Halloween makeover with carved pumpkin heads and glowing eyes and mouths, inspired by Zero Team's Bedrock add-on.

Animals, monsters and players keep their familiar bodies, movement and equipment. Creatures with a combined head and body receive a pumpkin body with their appendages retained. Baby mobs, the wither's three heads, the Ender Dragon and wither skull projectiles have their own replacements.

The default is Mobs + players. Choose Mobs + players, Mobs only, or Off. Assign a key to Cycle pumpkin heads mode in Minecraft's Controls menu to switch immediately. No key is assigned by default. Your choice is remembered between sessions.

This is a cosmetic client mod. It does not change hitboxes, attacks, drops, sunlight protection or enderman aggression. The glowing faces do not add block light. First-person hands and placed skull blocks keep their original appearance.

Requirements

  • Minecraft Java Edition 26.2 or 26.3
  • The matching Fabric or NeoForge download
  • Zero Lib 1.0.5 or newer and the matching Architectury API
  • Fabric API when using Fabric

Install the matching loader, put the mod and its required dependencies in your Minecraft mods folder, and start the game. Install on the client. A server does not need the mod, and installing it on a server alone does not enable pumpkin heads for other players.

Mods replacing vanilla models or entity renderers may conflict. Mobs from other mods are outside the intended scope. Player portraits that use skin textures keep their original face.
