Description
🛡️ Auto Totem
Never die again — your totem always finds its way to your hand.
Tired of manually moving your Totem of Undying to your offhand after every death or item swap? Auto Totem handles it for you — quietly, instantly, and only when it's actually needed. One keybind to toggle it on or off. No config files to edit by hand.
---
✨ Features
- Auto-equip — the moment your offhand is empty, a totem from your inventory or hotbar is slotted in immediately
- Toggle with O — press O to enable or disable the mod on the fly; rebind it anytime in Controls settings
- Remembers your preference — the on/off state is saved to `config/autototem.json` and persists across restarts
- No server install needed — fully client-side; the server only sees ordinary inventory actions
---
⚙️ How it works
1. Every few ticks, the mod checks whether a Totem of Undying is already in your offhand
2. If the slot is empty, it scans your hotbar and main inventory for a totem
3. The totem is moved using a standard vanilla inventory packet — the same action as pressing F on a slot manually
---
📋 Compatibility
| Minecraft | 1.21.1-1.21.11 |
| Loader | Fabric ≥ 0.16 |
| Requires | [Fabric API](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/fabric-api) |
| Side | Client only ✅ |

🎉 Auto Totem 2.0.1
Major update: settings menu, Mod Menu support, two HUDs, and faster totem equipping.
⚡ Faster response
- Inventory check now runs every tick instead of once every 5 ticks — the totem takes offhand almost instantly after the slot is freed. Previously, you might not have had time before the second hit.
⚙️ Settings menu
- Opens with the B key (default) or with a button in the Mod Menu, if it is installed — the Mod Menu is not required; the mod works without it.
- The settings are divided into two sections: HUD Statistics and HUD Alerts.
- The “Change Position” button in each section enables a drag‑and‑drop mode directly over the game, with a tooltip and frame highlighting so you don’t have to guess how to move the HUD.
- Separate size and transparency sliders for each HUD, plus volume for the notification.
- The reset position button returns the HUD to its default location.
📊 Statistics HUD (enabled by default)
- Shows how many totems of immortability the player has left.
- Shows when the totem last triggered.
🔔 HUD Alerts (disabled by default)
- A pop‑up message with sound when the totem is triggered.
- By default — in the bottom‑right corner of the screen; the position and sound can be adjusted separately.
🐛 Fixes
- The settings menu layout has been adjusted: the title and the auto‑totem on/off button used to overlap.
Installation: requires Fabric API. Mod Menu — optional, for the settings button in the mod list.
