Description

KLAXON:

A work-in-progress tech mod that's now actually pretty playable and cool. More content coming soon.

Features:

KLAXON aims to provide interesting mechanics that add depth and fun to the modded experience, and here are a few highlights!

Materials:

  • Steel
    • Sturdy, inert material with industrial applications.
  • Crude Steel
    • Somewhat less sturdy version of Steel. Gear made with it can be repaired in order to be brought back up to par.
  • Rubber
    • Versatile material sourced from exotic trees and Nether Stems. Used in industrial applications such as… equipment grips. Currently no other industrial applications.
  • Molten Rubber
    • Rubber that has been melted down in order to be modified.

Steel Equipment:

Steel & Crude Steel can be used to craft multiple equipment pieces with different purposes:

  • Steel Hammer
    • Used to make metal plates.
    • You can walljump with it. (Try holding another one in your offhand while doing this.)
    • Deals more knockback on knockback hit.
    • Can instantly break shatterable blocks such as Glass, Glowstone, and Skulls.
  • Steel Cleaver
    • Can instantly break congealed / biological blocks such as Rubber, Sculk or Nether Wart Blocks. And Skulls.
    • Has Innate Looting I.
    • Can breach shields (break + do damage) on fully charged strike.
    • Functions like an Axe.
  • Steel Wrench
    • Can instantly break supported mechanical / redstone blocks.
    • Can rotate / pick up supported blocks such as pistons, rails, and levers.
    • Deals no knockback when attacking.
  • Steel Cable Shears
    • Can instantly break wiry blocks such as Grates, Chains, and Iron Bars.
    • Functions like regular Shears, including in a Dispenser.
    • Can be used to craft Iron Bars into Chains - will be used to make Wires in the future.
  • Steel Armor
    • Grants Entity Weight (Disables Hammer Walljumping if greater than 1.)
    • Is about as good as unenchanted Netherite. All Steel Equipment is stronger and more durable than diamond; however, it's unenchantable. It doesn't cost any EXP to repair, though.

The Deepslate Blast Processor:

This crude machine serves as an interim measure sufficient for the most basic alloying, while better machinery is in the works. Place an explosive catalyst in the bottom slot, and a valid ingredient in the top slot, and power it like you would a Dispenser.

While Blast Processors may make for poor alloying machines, being able to create explosions of varying strengths and types on demand wherever you please seems rather useful. Includes support for such explosives as Fireworks, Wind Charges, and Beds, to name a few.

Compatibility

  • EMI
    • Passable support for all of KLAXON's recipe types. Highly recommended for fun gameplay.
  • Jade
    • KLAXON's tools are displayed in the tooltip for blocks they can mine or instabreak.
    • The Deepslate Blast Processor renders its current explosion power in the tooltip.

    • Hallnox Fungus
      • Hardy tree(?) obtainable from Sniffers
      • Can grow anywhere in any orientation, from the deepest depths of the ocean to the furthest reaches of space.

Steel Equipment:

Steel & Crude Steel can be used to craft multiple equipment pieces with different purposes:

  • Grapple Winch
    • Hybrid movement tool, mining tool, item transporter, and weapon.
      • Can break anything instabreakable by the Hammer or the Cleaver.
      • Can veinmine anything instabreakable by the Hammer on the Grapple Claw's return journey.
      • Takes Grapple Claws as ammo.
      • The KLAXON Conglomerate is not responsible for any injury or property damage resulting from improper use of the Grapple Winch.
      • If you don't feel like trudging through the admittedly jank current progression, just go in Creative and spawn this in.
    • Steel Hammer
      • Used to make metal plates.
      • You can walljump with it. (Try holding another one in your offhand while doing this.)
      • Deals more knockback on knockback hit.
      • Can breach through shields on knockback hit.
      • Can instantly break shatterable blocks such as Glass, Glowstone, and Skulls.
    • Steel Cleaver
      • Can instantly break congealed / biological blocks such as Rubber, Sculk or Nether Wart Blocks.
      • Can breach shields (break + do damage) on crit.

      • Functions like regular Shears, including in a Dispenser.
      • Can be used to craft Metal Plates into Metal Wires.
    • Steel Armor
      • Heavy Equipment - Lessens the strength of Hammer Walljumps and allows you to yank Grapple Claws out of blocks and heavy entities.
      • Is about as good as unenchanted Netherite. All Steel Equipment is stronger and more durable than diamond; however, it's unenchantable. It doesn't cost any EXP to repair, though.

This crude machine serves as an interim measure sufficient for the most basic alloying, while better machinery is in the works. Place an explosive catalyst in the bottom slot, and a valid ingredient in the top slot, and power it like you would a Dispenser.

Nether Reactor Cores:

Created by applying a Hallnox Pod onto Steel Casing, these machines hijack any explosion originating within them to convert the surrounding blocks into their Nether counterparts.

While Blast Processors may make for poor alloying machines, being able to create explosions of varying strengths and types on demand wherever you please seems rather useful. Includes support for such explosives as Fireworks, Wind Charges, and Beds, to name a few.
