Kydens Blocks

A small collection of utility blocks I built for my own worlds, my servers, and my friends, sharing it in case anyone else finds it useful too. Bit of a love letter to old mods like OpenBlocks that don't get updated anymore and are sorely missed, so a few of these are my own take on blocks from that era.

Blocks

• Angel Block: places itself mid-air in front of you, useful for scaffolding builds without a base to stand on
• Sprinkler: waters and hydrates farmland nearby, also nudges along crops, saplings, and most bonemealable plants
• Tank: stores any fluid (including modded ones), connect multiple together and they share capacity and fill level
• XP Drain: pressure-plate style block, drains your XP and pipes it into an adjacent Tank as liquid experience
• XP Shower: the opposite, drips liquid XP back out as orbs from an adjacent Tank
• Sound Muffler: quiets down nearby sound effects while active
• Rain Muffler: mutes rain and thunder sounds in the area
• Rubbish Bin: drop items in, they're gone. No more chest full of cobblestone
• Block Breaker: breaks the block in front of it on a redstone pulse, collects drops into its own inventory
• Block Placer: places a block from its inventory in front of it on a redstone pulse
• Drawbridge: extends and retracts a line of blocks from its inventory, redstone-powered
• Sky Block / Inverted Sky Block: shows the actual sky (sun, moon) through the block instead of a texture, handy for hiding a ceiling. Redstone toggles which one shows sky
• Cursed Earth: spawns hostile mobs in darkness, spreads slowly, burns off instantly in direct sunlight. Made through a ritual, not craftable

Items

• Construction Wand: right-click a block face to extend it out using matching blocks from your inventory
• Kyden's Wrench: right-click a directional block to rotate it, sneak+right-click to reverse
• XP Bucket: a bucket of liquid experience

Cursed Earth ritual

Place a Sculk Catalyst, then:

• Put a lit candle (any colour, any amount) on all four sides of it
• Surround the area with at least 8 dirt-type blocks and 4 soul sand/soil within a few blocks
• Kill a hostile mob nearby in the dark, near the catalyst
