About
Description
This mod adds turrets that you can craft and put arround your base to defend it from those pesky monsters or alternatively other players. be careful and protect your turrets though as mobs may also be able to use them against you!
Requires Geckolib!
Note: if you experience crashes when updating, make sure to check the changelogs for any config changes, if those exist delete your config file and let the game create a new one. For some reason that can sometimes cause crashes
Also check this mod out on Modrinth!
FEATURES
Note: All the turrets in the mod are generally shot by right clicking when you are riding them. ammo is loaded by right clicking on the turret with the ammo on hand (shift can be held as to not repetedly ride them)
Bow turret
The bow turret is the most basic of all the turrets added by these mods and as such the easiest and most simple to craft, its ammo type is arrows.
Catapult
"Why shoot arrow when big rock go boom?" - Sun tzu, art of war
The catapult is the second most basic turret in the mod, and as expected shoots rocks that produce a large area of effect explosion upon landing, its ammo type is cobblestone.
Hwacha
The hwacha turret fires a large volley of arrows that deal low damage but set targets on fire, its especially designed as a crowd control turret capable of dealing decent damage over time on a large crowd of enemies, it uses arrows as ammo however due to its volley-fire nature each arrow counts as 10 shots for the hwacha for balancing reasons as to not make it too expensive to shoot.
Cannon
The cannon operates rather differently than most of the other turrets.
It comes with a block thats required for it to function called "Amethyst Target". When powered by redstone, the amethyst target will send a vibration towards all nearby cannons and prompt them to automatically look and fire, the cannons ammo is cannonballs and will not fire if they dont have any ammo.
The proyectile has high dropoff when fired by the cannon, and the cannons do not automatically account for it. A player can adjust the cannons firing angle by right clicking / shift right clicking the target (amethyst target block) which the cannon will be firing towards (do note, the amethyst target will always force the closest cannon to fire.) with an amethyst shard on hand.
Orbital Cannon
"The medieval people loved their obital cannons" Source: Trust me.
The orbital cannon is the most powerful and most different turret in all of the mod as it can shoot with infinite range at anywhere in the world when given the appropiate coordinates, when right clicking the orbitall cannon, a GUI will open.
On the appropiate slots, put a paper renamed with the coordinates you want the cannon to shoot at. and on the red slot the payload to fire (TNT). Pressing the shoot button will make the cannon fire towards the designed coordinates, when firing account for the fact that the tnt will be fired from above and fall down on the target.
Wrench
Although not a turret, the wrench can be used to both repair damaged turrets (right click) or disassemble them (left click). A turret that is destroyed via any means that isnt the wrench will be destroyed permanently
If an entity is riding your turret when you try to disassemble it, it will kick the entity out inestead and put it on a short cooldown so it cant ride again.
New features
Nether altar
The nether altar is a hellish turret capable of summoning ghast fireballs stationary above it for the player to punch and aim as they will, the altar will not create a new fireball if there is one already remaining above it. Its ammo is fire charges, and its crafted as follows
