Description
MineColonies Guns & Tweaks is a standalone NeoForge addon that expands MineColonies combat, worker compatibility, and colony management for modpacks using TaCZ and optional SteamAge equipment.
Combat and gunner support
- Adds configurable firearm support for MineColonies guard-like citizens.
- Supports MineColonies Gunner jobs, including setups using
JobGunner-style job names. - Allows guards to use TaCZ-compatible firearms through the
minecolonies_guns_tweaks:guard_gunsitem tag. - Prevents unarmed guards from being treated as firearm users by default.
- Supports configurable ammunition handling through the
guard_ammoitem tag. - Includes optional ammunition consumption.
- Adds configurable target scan intervals.
- Adds configurable firing cooldowns.
- Supports configurable burst shots and burst delay.
- Adds separate nearby and full-range Gunner target scans.
- Supports ranged attack distances up to 240 blocks.
- Adds configurable fallback damage and knockback.
- Caps projectile trail particles to reduce unnecessary visual and server overhead.
- Includes stale Gunner-state cleanup for long-running colonies.
- Improves Gunner defensive positioning and retreat behavior.
- Preserves TaCZ weapon handling while adding MineColonies integration.
Bow and crossbow support
- Allows MineColonies archers, rangers, and marksmen to use an extended configurable attack range.
- Supports vanilla bows, crossbows, MineColonies arrows, and tagged specialty arrows.
- Does not replace TaCZ firearm behavior with bow logic.
SteamAge compatibility
SteamAge is optional. The addon launches without SteamAge installed. (Steam age is a mod that is not out yet)
Worker and building compatibility
The mod includes optional worker-tuning support for:
- Builders
- Farmers
- Fields
- Foresters
- Repair workers
- Upgrade workers
Configurable worker features include:
- Generic worker speed boosts.
- Builder speed multipliers.
- Block destruction speed multipliers.
- Block placement delay settings.
- Block destruction delay settings.
- Builder destruction permissions.
- Repair behavior for buildings.
- Upgrade behavior for buildings.
- Configurable worker-refresh intervals.
Generic worker boosts are disabled by default to avoid unexpectedly changing existing colony behavior.
Crop, sapling, and compostable compatibility
The addon adds compatibility tags for:
- Colony crops
- Colony saplings
- Colony compostables
Pack authors can extend these tags through datapacks without modifying the mod JAR.
Research compatibility
The mod provides configuration surfaces for:
- Research speed multipliers.
- Gunner training.
- Advanced Gunner progression.
- Gunner ammunition efficiency.
- Gunner reload improvements.
- Gunner armor protection.
Citizen behavior
Includes an optional setting to disable citizen mourning behavior after citizen deaths.
