Description
Obsidimancy
This mod is a work in progress, so a lot of features still have to be balanced, and textures and in-game documentation still have to be added.
Harnessing the power of obsidian to infuse tools with dimensional energies
Overview
Obsidimancy is a mod that allows the player to discover artifacts from a precursor civilization that harnessed obsidian to empower their tools with dimensional energies. Each artifact will take the form on an armor piece, tool, or Curio that can be attuned and upgraded with the power of each of the 3 vanilla dimensions, giving each artifact a lot of options.
Getting Started
The mod adds Ruined Altar structures around the world, which contain Fragile Obsidian and Attunement Altar blocks. Fragile Obsidian can be broken with an Iron Pickaxe, causing it to drop Obsidian Shards. Those shards can be dropped near an Attunement Altar to slowly attune them to a dimension based on the precipitation type the altar is in (Rain for The Overworld, none for The Nether, and snow for The End).

Non-attuned Obsidian Shards can be used to craft the base tools, while Attuned Obsidian shards can be used to upgrade them in a Smithing Table. Once you have obtained your first Obsidian Shards, you can craft a Precursor's Pickaxe, a pickaxe equivalent to an Iron Pickaxe that can break Obsidian blocks and drop Obsidian Shards instead of Obsidian.
Implemented Tools
Tools may have inherent enchantments, which is treated as being part of the tool when the game calculates the enchantment level for in game events, but can still be enchanted and inherent enchantment levels add to added enchantments.
Precursor's Pickaxe
An Iron Pickaxe equivalent that converts Obsidian blocks it breaks to Obsidian Shards (affected by Fortune). Attunement converts it into a Diamond Pickaxe equivalent and adds various enchantments.
Skydiver's Hood
A helmet that inherently provides Feather Falling I. Attunement provides higher levels of Feather Falling or adds effects when you take fall damage.
