Description

Origins Legacy Support

This mod is a compatibility layer for Origins (Fabric) datapacks. Some datapacks or powers may not work correctly.

Origins Legacy Support allows Origins (NeoForge) to load datapacks made for Origins (Fabric), Apoli, and supported Apugli content. It translates legacy JSON data into the format used by Origins (NeoForge).

FAQ

Are all Fabric Origins datapacks compatible?

No. I cannot promise that I include all edge cases or that all datapacks will work correctly. Some datapacks may not load or may behave differently than expected.

If a datapack fails to load or behaves differently, please report it with the datapack and the relevant log messages. This helps improve compatibility safely.

Why is this not included in Origins (NeoForge)?

Compatibility layer is less stable than the native Origins (NeoForge) format. Adding an experimental compatibility layer directly to Origins (NeoForge) could affect the stability of the main mod.

Keeping it separate lets Origins (NeoForge) remain stable while this mod improves legacy support independently.

Should I still port my datapack?

Yes. For the best long-term result, port datapacks to the native Origins (NeoForge) format whenever possible.

Follow the Origins NeoForge datapack porting guide or try its Auto Converter. The converter may not handle every change, but it can save time during porting.
