About

Description

This mod implements abilities using the Player Abilities mod.
Please see the website for more details on implementations.

Player Abilities: Reverie is a set of abilities built on the Player Abilities framework. These are the abilities used in the modpack Realms of Reverie. You are welcome to use this mod as is, or use its source as the basis for your own ability implementations. It doubles as a working example of how to build abilities against the Player Abilities API.

All abilities are active abilities with three levels. Higher levels improve range, duration, speed, or yield. Every value can be tuned per pack through Player Abilities datapack configs.

Gathering and Mining

  • Excavate: Clears all shovel-diggable ground ahead of you (soil, sand, gravel, clay) in waves, from your feet upward, never below. At max level the drops go straight to your inventory.
  • Woodsong: Scans the grown trees around you and collects logs, leaves, sticks, and saplings from each one. The trees remain standing.
  • Tremor Sense: Charges a pulse that outlines nearby ores, suspicious sand and gravel, and ancient debris through stone. At max level the outlines are color coded by ore type.
  • Deepsight: Grants long-lasting sight in the dark. Must be cast deep underground or in the Nether.
  • Fathom's Eye: Grants long-lasting sight underwater. Must be cast while in water.

Farming and Food

  • Cascading Harvest: Target a ripe crop and the harvest spreads outward from it, reaping and replanting every fully grown crop it can reach. The drops go to your inventory.
  • Petrichor: Calls down a localized rain that irrigates farmland and rapidly grows the crops around you.
  • Shepherd's Aura: Nearby animals gather to you, heal, and take reduced damage. At max level they also move faster. Animals will not attack you while the aura holds.
  • Conjure Food: Creates a meal out of nothing. Better meals at higher levels, but conjured food fades from existence after a few minutes.
  • Feast of Life: Consumes the food in your hand and converts it directly into healing and absorption for you and nearby players. Heartier food gives a bigger feast.

Utility and Crafting

  • Mend: Channels repair into the damaged tool or armor in your hand. The longer you channel, the more it repairs.
  • Transmute: Channels a held stack of material into another form, such as iron into gold. Recipes are datapack driven and rarer conversions unlock at higher levels. The cooldown depends on what you converted.
  • Restful Meditation: Hold still and meditate to restore health and hunger over time. Moving breaks the trance.
  • Peaceful Reverie: A ritual channeled at the water's edge. While it holds, mobs have a much harder time noticing you. At max level you also turn invisible. Moving breaks it.

Movement and Escape

  • Canopy Leap: Teleports you to the top of the tree you are looking at and lets you down gently. Taller trees are reachable at higher levels.
  • Escape Shaft: A long ritual cast deep underground. When it completes you rise up through the earth to the surface. At max level nearby teammates rise with you.
  • Caisson: Parts the water around you into a sphere of air, giving you room to breathe and build. The water reclaims the space after a while.
  • Hunter's Mark: Sharpens your senses so nearby creatures are outlined through walls. Higher levels reveal more creature types at greater range.
