Description
Project Omnipotence is an experimental mod that aims to provide an alternative way of playing Minecraft revolving around the idea that all entities/mobs that exist in the world are considered as one being (all is one and one is all). Once the player immerses into this belief (via means that will be described later), they will achieve a state of complete harmony and tranquility (regarded as "omnipotence") with their surroundings while gaining a set of potent abilities.
In order to become an "omnipotent" or enlightened player, one must read a special tome labelled: "The Tome of the Truth" which can be found in a new ruins structure deep in mountainous biomes. After reading, the book is consumed and the player gets a chat message accompanied by white particles signifying that they just became an omnipotent.
Besides the particles/visual flairs, the omnipotent player would notice that they are no longer targeted/attacked by hostile mobs but are no longer able to directly damage other entities themselves; instead, upon trying to inflict damage the targeted entity would instead also gain the same white particles as the player while dropping their usual loot and experience, becoming enlightened. Besides that, omnipotent players are also immune to negative status effects from the start.
By enlightening other entities, the omnipotent player would gain better abilities. For each 250 entities enlightened up until 1000 the player would gain an additional bonus level of looting, fortune, luck, and a -25 emerald discount from all villager trades, hence capping at +3 looting fortune, and luck and a -75 emerald discount. At 1000 entities enlightened, the player would be completely immune to all forms of damage while also redirecting any damage dealt by other entities back to the attacker, following the ideology that "what you give is what you get back in return"; in addition, the player would no longer be able to fall into the void and would either teleport up to the nearest top-level solid block or bounce above y = 0 until they reach a valid area where they can teleport back up.
Should the player become bored of this alternative way of playing, they are able to become a normal player again by reading yet another tome dubbed "The Tome of Lies" found in a rarely spawning shrine-like structure in the Nether. Upon reading the tome, the player loses their white particles and is able to resume their bloodlust and desire to un-alive other mobs.
Additional Features:
The mod has a few useful commands and a config file that can modify some data values related to omnipotence:
Config:
The config file contains a list of usernames accompanied by a starting number of enlightened entities that can be appended to in order to make a player permanently omnipotent from the start of the world (note that they would not be able to become a normal player even with the Tome of Lies / commands).
Other config settings include: entity enlightenment thresholds for the luck levels, invulnerability status, flight ability, total luck levels available, as well as visual settings for omnipotent players. Additionally, some of these abilities are completely toggleable should you feel that they are too op.
Commands:
/projectomnipotence clearEnlightened [selector]
- Removes omnipotence / enlightenment from an entity (note: does not work on permanent omnipotents)
/projectomnipotence checkEntitiesEnlightened
- Command for regular players with which they can get the amount of entities they have enlightened
/projectomnipotence entitiesEnlightened [get/set] [player selector] [amount]
- Sets the amount of entities enlightened for a player
/projectomnipotence setEnlightened [selector]
- Grants omnipotence / enlightenment to an entity.
Other Notes:
The fabric version of this mod only needs to be installed on the server in order to properly function whilst the forge version needs to be installed on both the server and clients.
