RPG Enchantments

📖 Description

A suite of a few vanilla-friendly enchantments designed to create distinct RPG roles. These new enchantments act as specialized alternatives to standard meta upgrades like Protection, Sharpness, and Power.

You cannot have it all. These enchantments are mutually exclusive with their vanilla counterparts, forcing a strategic choice: stick to the generalist vanilla meta, or specialize your gear to adopt a unique playstyle with specific strengths and trade-offs.

The enchantments can be obtained from the enchantment table, loot chests or trading with villagers.

🛡️ Classes (Builds)

By combining specific enchantments, you can create the following archetypes:

Assassin

  • Focus: Speed & DPS.
  • Enchantments: Lightweight + Swift Strike
  • Playstyle: Get in close, strike fast, and maneuver around your enemies. You rely on attack speed and movement rather than raw damage per hit.

Tank

  • Focus: Durability & Crowd Control.
  • Enchantments: Bulwark + Cleave
  • Playstyle: You are the immovable object. You take massive hits and deal heavy, slow sweeping attacks. You sacrifice movement speed for pure survivability.

Archer

  • Focus: Range & Kiting.
  • Enchantments: Impact + Lightweight
  • Playstyle: Keep your distance. Your bow deals devastating damage, but firing it leaves you vulnerable to melee attacks for a short time. Use your speed to maintain the gap.

Healer

  • Focus: Support & Mobility.
  • Enchantments: Lifebound + Lightweight
  • Playstyle: The backbone of the team. You move quickly to reach allies. Attacking an ally while sneaking heals them, but this divine act prevents you from using melee weapons offensively for a duration.

Warrior

  • Focus: Balance & Versatility.
  • Enchantments: Protection + Sharpness
  • Playstyle: The classic adventurer. You maintain a reliable balance between offense and defense. Unlike specialized roles, you suffer no movement or combat penalties, making you the most adaptable fighter for general survival.

📚 Enchantments

Bulwark

  • Support: Armor.
  • Max Level: 4
  • Effect: Provides significantly higher Armor and Knockback Resistance than Protection.
  • Trade-off: Decreases Movement Speed.
  • Roles: Tank.

Lightweight

  • Support: Armor.
  • Max Level: 4
  • Effect: Increases Armor (little), Movement Speed and Step Height.
  • Roles: Assassin, Archer, and Healer.

Cleave

  • Support: Axe.
  • Max Level: 5
  • Effect: Deals much higher damage than Sharpness.
  • Trade-off: Decreases Attack Speed significantly.
  • Roles Tanks.

Swift Strike

  • Support: Swords.
  • Max Level: 5
  • Effect: Increases Attack Speed and Attack Damage (little).
  • Roles: Assassin.

Impact

  • Support: Bow.
  • Max Level: 5
  • Effect: Deals 2x the damage of Power and grants a passive Movement Speed boost.
  • Trade-off: Holding this weapon disables melee attacks for a short duration.
  • Roles: Archer.

Lifebound

  • Support: Swords.
  • Max Level: 5
  • Effect: Grants a passive Movement Speed boost and increase Attack Damage (little).
  • Special Ability: Attacking a target while Sneaking (Shift) heals them instead of dealing damage.
  • Trade-off: Triggering the heal disables offensive melee attacks for a short duration.
  • Roles: Healer.

💡 Tips

  • Since Impact and Lifebound disable your melee capabilities temporarily, make sure you have a safe escape route or a teammate to protect you!
  • Bulwark makes you very slow; consider using a mount or potions to offset the penalty if you need to travel.
