Select

Select is a lightweight client-side Minecraft mod available for Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge on Minecraft 26.2. It makes mining more convenient by automatically selecting the most suitable tool from the player's hotbar. While the player is holding the attack key and aiming at a supported block, Select checks the available hotbar items and switches to the appropriate axe, pickaxe, shovel, hoe, or shears when one is available. If multiple suitable tools are present, it prefers the one with the highest block-breaking speed.

The mod supports blocks identified by Minecraft's standard tool tags, including axe-, pickaxe-, shovel-, and hoe-mineable blocks, as well as blocks that benefit from shears. It does not move items between inventory slots or automatically pull tools into the hotbar. Instead, when the correct tool exists in the main inventory but not in the hotbar, Select displays a brief on-screen notice telling the player to place that tool in the hotbar. This keeps inventory management under the player's control while still making the active hotbar responsive.

Select is enabled by default and can be toggled at any time with the G key. Each toggle displays an on-screen status message showing whether the feature is ON or OFF. When disabled, the mod leaves the player's selected slot unchanged and performs no automatic tool selection. The inventory reminder is rate-limited so it does not repeatedly cover the screen while the player continues targeting the same type of block.

The mod is designed to be simple, unobtrusive, and compatible with normal Minecraft controls: it only changes the selected hotbar slot when mining a supported block and a suitable tool is already present in the hotbar. The Fabric edition requires Minecraft 26.2, Fabric Loader 0.19.3 or newer, Fabric API, and Java 25 or newer. The Forge edition requires Minecraft 26.2, Forge 65.1.3 or newer, and Java 25 or newer. The NeoForge edition requires Minecraft 26.2, NeoForge 26.2.0.76 or newer, and Java 25 or newer.

Select es un mod ligero de Minecraft para el lado del cliente, disponible para Fabric, Forge y NeoForge en Minecraft 26.2. Facilita la minería al seleccionar automáticamente la herramienta más adecuada de la barra de acceso rápido (hotbar) del jugador. Mientras el jugador mantiene presionada la tecla de ataque y apunta a un bloque compatible, Select revisa los objetos disponibles en la barra de acceso rápido y cambia al hacha, pico, pala, azada o tijeras apropiados si alguno de ellos está disponible. Si hay varias herramientas adecuadas, da prioridad a la que tenga mayor velocidad de rotura de bloques.

El mod es compatible con bloques identificados mediante las etiquetas estándar de herramientas de Minecraft, incluidos los bloques que se pican con hacha, pico, pala o azada, así como aquellos que requieren tijeras. No mueve objetos entre las casillas del inventario ni traslada automáticamente herramientas a la barra de acceso rápido. En su lugar, cuando la herramienta correcta se encuentra en el inventario principal pero no en la barra de acceso rápido, Select muestra un breve aviso en pantalla indicando al jugador que coloque dicha herramienta en la barra. Esto permite que el jugador mantenga el control sobre la gestión del inventario, al tiempo que hace que la barra de acceso rápido responda de forma dinámica.

Select está habilitado por defecto y puede activarse o desactivarse en cualquier momento con la tecla G. Cada cambio muestra un mensaje de estado en pantalla que indica si la función está activada (ON) o desactivada (OFF). Cuando está desactivado, el mod no modifica la casilla seleccionada por el jugador ni realiza ninguna selección automática de herramientas. El aviso del inventario tiene una limitación de frecuencia para evitar que cubra repetidamente la pantalla mientras el jugador sigue apuntando al mismo tipo de bloque.

El mod está diseñado para ser sencillo, discreto y compatible con los controles habituales de Minecraft: solo cambia la casilla seleccionada de la barra de acceso rápido cuando se mina un bloque compatible y ya existe una herramienta adecuada en dicha barra. La edición para Fabric requiere Minecraft 26.2, Fabric Loader 0.19.3 o superior, Fabric API y Java 25 o superior.
