Simply Server Store

Simply Server Store is a secure, server-controlled in-game shop for Minecraft Forge 1.20.1.

Create your own categories and products, configure prices and purchase limits, customize the interface, and deliver rewards with server commands. The shop includes an in-game visual editor, so administrators can manage it without manually rewriting large JSON files.

The mod must be installed on both the server and every connecting client.

Features

  • Fully dynamic shop GUI generated from the server configuration
  • User-friendly in-game editor for categories, products, commands, sounds, colors, and textures
  • Advanced editor for direct access to technical configuration fields
  • Searchable item picker for vanilla and modded items
  • Support for item variants stored in NBT, including optional TACZ weapon integration
  • Product prices, permissions, purchase limits, reset periods, and cooldowns
  • Custom confirmation settings, purchase buttons, messages, and sounds
  • Global, category-specific, and product-specific visual styles
  • Configurable card sizes, spacing, grid layout, colors, and layered textures
  • Built-in integer currency stored in SQLite
  • Configurable currency settings and text symbol
  • Optional Vault economy integration for compatible hybrid servers
  • Transaction history, audit records, automatic backups, and manual review tools
  • Server-side validation of configuration, commands, placeholders, prices, and limits

Server-Controlled by Design

The server is the only source of truth.

Categories, products, prices, permissions, limits, and reward commands are stored and validated on the server. Regular clients receive only the data required to display products available to that player. Reward commands are never included in the normal shop data sent to customers.

Before accepting a purchase, the server checks:

  • the player's permissions;
  • the current shop revision;
  • whether the category and product are enabled;
  • the current balance;
  • purchase limits and cooldowns;
  • the configured reward commands;
  • duplicate and concurrent purchase protection.

The client never decides the price or purchase result.

In-Game Editors

Open the main visual editor with:

/ms admin editor

It provides forms for creating categories and products, selecting item icons, changing appearance, configuring sounds, and building reward commands.

The advanced technical editor remains available through:

/ms admin editor_extension

Only authorized administrators can access editor data. Saving creates a backup, validates the complete draft, publishes a new revision, and keeps the editor open for further changes.

Reward Commands

Products deliver their rewards through one or more server commands. Commands are entered without a leading / and run from the server console after payment succeeds.

Examples:

give ${player} minecraft:diamond 16
effect give ${player} minecraft:absorption 30 1
tellraw ${player} {"text":"Thank you for your purchase!","color":"green"}
title ${player} title {"text":"Purchase complete"}

Supported placeholders:

${player}
${uuid}
${price}
${category_id}
${slot_id}
${transaction_id}

Normal JSON and NBT braces remain untouched. Commands are parsed by the server before the configuration is accepted and checked again with the real purchase values before payment.

Currency

Simply Server Store supports two currency providers.

Built-in SQLite currency

The default provider stores whole-number balances in the server's SQLite database. No Bukkit plugins are required. Administrators can inspect, add, remove, or set balances with /ms admin xr.

The currency name and text symbol can be configured in server.json; the symbol is displayed next to balances and prices.

Vault economy

On a compatible hybrid server, the shop can use an economy exposed through Bukkit Vault, such as EssentialsX Economy or CMI.

This mode requires:

  • a server capable of loading Forge mods and Bukkit plugins together;
  • Vault;
  • a Vault-compatible economy plugin;
  • the companion Vault Bridge plugin.

Vault is optional. Standard Forge servers can use the built-in SQLite currency.

Commands

Player commands:

/ms
/ms open
/ms balance
/ms buy category <category_id> slot <slot_id> # To ensure greater security, the player's GUI works by sending commands rather than packets.

Main administrator commands:

/ms admin editor
/ms admin editor_extension
/ms admin validate
/ms admin reload
/ms admin backup
/ms admin xr get|add|remove|set
/ms admin currency status
/ms admin history
/ms admin review list|show|refund|resolve

Permissions

Player permissions:

minecraftshop.open
minecraftshop.buy
minecraftshop.balance

Administrator permissions:

minecraftshop.admin
minecraftshop.admin.editor
minecraftshop.admin.reload
minecraftshop.admin.validate
minecraftshop.admin.backup
minecraftshop.admin.currency
minecraftshop.admin.history
minecraftshop.admin.review

Player commands are allowed by default. Administrator commands require operator access or the appropriate permission. Category and product entries can also use custom permission nodes.

Installation

  1. Install Minecraft Forge 1.20.1 and run the game with Java 17.
  2. Place the mod JAR in the server's mods directory.
  3. Place the same mod version in the mods directory of every client.
  4. Start the server to generate the configuration and database.
  5. Open /ms admin editor to create your shop.
  6. Use /ms open to test it as a player.

The generated server files are currently located in:

config/xrshop/
data/xrshop/xrshop.db

These technical paths retain the current internal mod ID.

Compatibility

  • Minecraft: 1.20.1
  • Mod loader: Forge 47.x
  • Java: 17
  • Installation side: server and client
  • Dedicated servers: supported
  • Vault integration: optional and hybrid-server only
  • Interface language: English; Russian

Simply Server Store is intended for survival servers, RPG projects, minigames, and modpacks that need a configurable shop whose prices, permissions, rewards, and transactions remain under server control.
