Description
Sojourn — Fast Travel & World Map
Inspired by the classic RPG world map. Your journey takes real time.
Sojourn brings the feel of a classic RPG overworld map into Minecraft. Instead of instant teleportation, you open a hand-drawn world map, pick your destination, and watch the journey unfold in real time — just like fast travel in Morrowind, Baldur's Gate, or Dragon Age. Distance costs food. Biomes affect speed. Things happen along the way.
🗺️ The World Map
Hold the Trail Kit for 5 seconds and start exploring the world map. In the creative mode, simply press "M"
This is the fast travel screen. Click any point on the map to begin the journey.
The map shows:
- Terrain — your explored world, rendered live from chunk data
- Player markers — every online player's position, updated in real time, with custom icons
- Fast travel zones — Travel Magnet areas where departure is blocked
- Status bar — Current biome, food supply speed, travel status
- Xaero's Minimap waypoints — displayed directly on the map if installed
- Recruits Count — Just like in the "Mount & Blade", appears next to the player's nickname if Villager Recruits mod installed
🧭 Trail Kit — How Fast Travel Works

Sojourn's fast travel is not a teleport. It's a simulated journey:
- Hold the Trail Kit and wait 5 seconds — the map opens (taking damage cancels activation)
- Click your destination on the map
- Your character travels at a speed determined by the biomes along the route
- Food is consumed on departure
Random events can occur mid-journey— in future updates- Arrive at your destination in real time
Travel on horseback for a speed bonus. To cross the oceans, you must have a boat. Pack food in the Trail Kit's built-in 5-slot inventory (Shift+RMB) for long journeys.
⛔ Travel Magnet — Fast Travel Restrictions

Place a Travel Magnet block to create a zone where fast travel cannot start or end — useful for protecting towns, spawn areas, or dungeon entrances from abuse. Add a Lodestone on top to expand the radius. Zones appear on the map so players always know where fast travel is restricted. Try renaming it in the anvil...
🖼️ Custom Player Icons
Place your icon at config/worldtravel/textures/gui. The file must be named "player_marker.png".
⚔️ Villager Recruits Integration
Compatible with the Villager Recruits mod. The map shows your active recruit count and how many are following you. Recruits that were following when you activated fast travel will accompany the journey and appear at the destination alongside you.
⚙️ Configuration
config/worldtravel/worldtravel_travel.properties:
