Description

The Guard Mod

Tired of watching villagers wander straight into danger? The Guard Mod adds a collection of hireable NPCs that protect villages, fight hostile mobs, and follow players into battle.

Guards automatically defend nearby villagers, but you can also right-click one and hire it for personal protection. Hired guards follow you, attack anything that hurts you, and can be ordered to stay in place by sneak-right-clicking them.

Guard Types

1. Leather Guard – An affordable fighter that marks enemies and calls nearby guards for backup.

2. Iron Guard – A dependable frontline unit with strong knockback and a shield bash.

3. Golden Guard – A fast fighter that deals extra damage to undead mobs.

4. Diamond Guard – An elite defender with shield counterattacks, protective buffs, and ground-slam attacks.

5. Netherite Guard – A powerful tank with fire immunity, flaming attacks, shockwaves, and the ability to survive one fatal hit per Minecraft day.

6. Archer – A ranged unit that fires normal, flaming, slowing, and heavy-damage arrows.

7. Swift Guard – A fast critical-hit fighter that builds a cobblestone pillar at low health and throws different types of rocks from above.

8. Battle Mage – A support unit that fires magic bolts, teleports away from danger, slows groups of enemies, protects allies, and removes harmful effects.

Hiring Guards

Each unit has its own hiring cost based on its strength and abilities. Right-click a guard to open the hiring menu. Once hired, that guard will stay with you and protect you from hostile mobs and other attackers.

Sneak-right-click a hired guard to switch between Follow and Stay mode.

Other Features

-Guards protect villagers automatically

-Unique combat behavior for every unit

-Visible attack, shield, spell, and building animations

-Friendly-fire protection between guards

-Guards retaliate when attacked

-Naturally appearing village defenders

-Matching spawn eggs for every unit

-Multiplayer support

The Guard Mod (TGM) is built for Minecraft 1.19.2 using Forge.
