Unlike other horror mods, The Formless does not rely on jump scares. Instead, it builds a sustained, oppressive atmosphere of something... otherworldly being present. It is designed for wide compatibility with other content mods, adding a layer of the paranormal to any universe, be it technomagical or arcane.

# 📥 Installation Guide
The Formless is built for Forge on Minecraft 1.20.1. Download The Formless mod from Modrinth or CurseForge. Then transfer this mod to

Not sure if the mod installed correctly? Listen closely. If the familiar world begins to feel alien, and you start seeing movement in the corner of your eye—it's working as intended.

Not sure how to configure the mod? Don't worry, you probably don't need to. The Formless is configured out-of-the-box to deliver the optimal, most atmospheric experience. You should only adjust the settings (such as phenomenon intensity or sound effects) if you wish to lessen the psychological pressure or, conversely, intensify it.

Looking for an even more terrifying experience? The Formless focuses on atmospheric and sensory phenomena. For a full-fledged horror playthrough, we recommend pairing it with mods that add realistic darkness, enhanced soundscapes, and perhaps rare but deadly entities. The Formless will provide the perfect, unnerving backdrop for them.

# ✅ Hardware Compatibility & Requirements
Minimum System Requirements:
We provide official support for systems capable of handling complex particle effects and spatial audio. However, the primary requirement is not raw power, but stability.

Graphics Card: Any card compatible with modern versions of Minecraft (OpenGL 3.3+).

Audio: Stereo or surround sound headphones are highly recommended for the full immersive effect.

Mental Fortitude: Use at your own risk. This mod may induce feelings of anxiety, paranoia, and the constant urge to look over your shoulder.

Important: Please ensure your audio and graphics drivers are up-to-date. Outdated drivers can cause issues with shaders and audio effects, which will break the carefully crafted atmosphere.

The mod is incompatible and will not function correctly with any mods or resource packs that completely disable atmospheric effects or make the game feel entirely safe. The Formless is not optional decor; it is an integral part of the world.

# 🐛 How to Report Issues
Please use the issue tracker linked at the top of this page to report actual bugs, crashes, or technical glitches.

Please Note: The nature of The Formless is random and unpredictable. What you may perceive as a bug (e.g., a vanishing shadow, a faint whisper) could very well be an intentional feature.

Before reporting an issue, please ensure:

You are not simply falling victim to your own imagination.

The phenomenon is consistently reproducible and genuinely hinders gameplay.

You have provided a complete list of the mods you are using and attached any relevant crash reports or log files.

The experience you will have with The Formless varies drastically depending on your hardware, your mod setup, and—most importantly—your own perception. Proceed at your own risk. Some threats are better left unseen.
