Description

The Overwiki

An offline, in-game field guide to the Overworld.

No wiki tab-switching, no ads, no internet required — just a real illustrated book that lives inside your game, always up to date with your world's own data.

What's inside

The Overwiki covers twelve encyclopedia sections, each browsed like a genuine field guide:

  • Blocks & Items — full catalogue with live recipes, "at a glance" stats (hardness, tool, stack size), and tag membership, all read straight from your world's registries
  • Mobs — every creature with a 3D preview, health, damage, spawn conditions, and a hand-written tagline
  • Biomes — climate, structures, and what makes each one worth visiting
  • Enchantments & Potions — full brewing chains and enchanting details
  • Farms & Mechanics & Redstone — step-by-step builds with layered schematics you can flip through
  • Builds — inspiration and blueprints for your next project
  • Versions — a history of what changed, release by release
  • Bugs & Glitches — the Overworld's most famous quirks, documented properly

Plus a personal Journal — blank pages for your own notes, seeded with a welcome message to get you started.

Why it's different

  • Truly offline. No network calls, no accounts, nothing to break in a modpack with no internet access.
  • Accurate by construction. Recipes and obtaining methods are read live from the game's own recipe manager — not hand-copied text that goes stale. If a future update changes how something is crafted, The Overwiki already knows.
  • Written, not scraped. Every tagline, description, and trivia entry is hand-written specifically for this mod — not lifted from a wiki.
  • Six languages, interface-wide, with more polish planned.
  • Three paper themes — Parchment, Sepia, and Slate — pick what's easiest on your eyes.

Getting started

Press K (configurable) to open the book. Click a colour-coded bookmark on the left to jump between sections — gold for the catalogue, green for creatures and places, red for building and redstone, purple for magic and lore, blue for tools.

Compatibility

Single-player and multiplayer both work. On multiplayer, sections that need the full recipe list (Blocks, Items) fall back gracefully rather than showing incorrect information, since servers don't send the complete recipe book to clients.
