Trade with Carts
This mod allows you to set up minecart-based supply chains between players where goods are automatically exchanged. Send off minecarts from your charcoal factory to your friend's powerplant and see them come back full of iron as payment!
Overview
This mod adds only one block and one item - the Exchange Station and Exchange Deal.
- The exchange deal is used to describe the transaction you are looking to make. Put it in the first slot of a chest cart and load the cart with payment.
- The exchange station is a block which performs transactions with minecarts in front of it if their deal matches the station's deal. Place it next to some tracks and put a (supply) chest on top of the block and an output inventory (like a hopper) underneath. Put an exchange deal in the first slot of the supply chest to set the terms for the exchange station and fill the rest of the chest with goods. Now, whenever a minecart with a matching exchange deal passes by the exchange station, payment will be transferred out of the minecart into the output inventory underneath and goods will be transferred from the supply chest into the minecart.
Note that deals do not have to be identical to match. A match will still be detected if the cart is willing to pay at least as much as the station asks (e.g. station asks for 1 diamond and cart offers 2) and if the station's deal is a multiple of the cart's deal (e.g. station sells 64 logs and cart buys 8 logs at a time). If a deal matches then the amount of goods per transfer and the payment for them is calculated from the station's deal, ensuring that the cart does not overpay (cart would pay 1 diamond in the first example).
Another useful feature of the exchange station is its redstone output. Similarly to Railcraft loaders/unloaders, it will cut off its redstone signal when a cart is being processed. It only outputs a signal to its four horizontal sides and is on by default which lets normal minecarts or carts which it will not trade with drive by without being halted.

(footage in context of larger modpack - this mod does not add coins, tracks or nuclear physics)
Note: It is recommended to use this mod alongside Railcraft, especially for its chunkloader carts and locking tracks set to Hold mode.
