Tradepost
Player shops from any chest. Server-side, theft-proof, works with vanilla clients.
Every survival server ends up with a market district, and every market runs on trust: leave some diamonds in a chest and hope your customers pay. Tradepost turns any chest or barrel into a real shop that sells (or buys) while you're offline. Only the server needs it; players join with a completely vanilla client.
🏪 Open a shop in five seconds
- Put your stock in a chest or barrel.
- Hold the item you're selling, look at the chest.
- Type
/shop sell 16 2 diamond(sell 16 of the held item for 2 diamonds).
A sign is placed on the side you're looking at, and the shop is open.
🪧 Signs that keep themselves up to date
[Sell]
16 × Oak Log
2 Diamond
Alex
When the shop can't trade, the owner's name is replaced with Out of stock, Shop full or Out of money, so customers know before they walk over. Signs are waxed so nobody can edit them, and if one gets knocked off, it comes back.
🛒 Right-click to trade
- Right-click the sign to buy once. Crouch + right-click to trade up to 16 times in one go.
- Payment goes straight into the owner's chest.
- Enchantments, names and other item data must match exactly, so nobody can pass off a plain sword as an enchanted one.
💰 Buy shops too
/shop buy 32 2 emerald makes a shop that buys 32 of the held item for 2 emeralds, paid from the chest. Great for farmers and anyone collecting resources.
🔒 Theft-proof
Only the owner (and operators) can:
- open the chest or break the chest or sign.
Nobody else can drain a shop another way either:
- Hoppers and hopper minecarts can't pull items out.
- Item pipes from other mods that use Fabric's storage API can't pull items out.
- Explosions (creepers, TNT, beds) don't destroy shops.
Double chests are fully protected, both halves.
📬 Hear about sales
If you're online, you get a message for every sale. If you're offline, you get a summary when you log in: "While you were away your shops made 12 trades. Earned: 24 Diamond."

Installation
- Requires Fabric Loader and Fabric API.
- Server-side. Install on the server only; players don't need anything.
- Works in singleplayer (LAN) too.
Good to know
- The currency can be any item, but it has to be a plain one: a renamed diamond isn't accepted as payment.
- Hoppers can still fill a shop from above, so you can restock with an automatic farm.
- Mod pipes that use Fabric's storage API see shops as empty, so they can't insert into them either.
