Village Bounties

Village Bounties is a lightweight bounty mod / village quest mod that adds bounty board structures to villages, giving you simple, immersive quests to pick up while exploring your world.

Release 1.1 Out Now!

What's New in 1.1

Village Bounties 1.1 focuses on cleaner bounty balance across all four supported Minecraft versions. Dangerous mob hunts now have more deliberate target and reward ranges, while common hostile mobs and renewable delivery items pay amounts that better match the work involved.

This update also adds beetroot to the existing crop bounty, tightens the hard diamond delivery bounty, moves slime hunts into the generic bounty pool, and removes the rabbit-foot delivery bounty.

Features

Village bounty boards: Find bounty boards in villages and use them to pick up local tasks.

Two bounty types: Complete kill bounties for vanilla mobs or delivery bounties for attainable items.

Per-player progress: Active bounties are tracked per player, so each player can work on their own job.

Difficulty variety: Boards can offer easy, medium, hard, and elite bounties with different target amounts and rewards.

HUD tracking: A compact and configurable HUD addition helps track your active bounty while you play, without needing a separate item or book.

Village-friendly worldgen: Bounty boards and structures are designed to fit into villages without overwhelming or replacing existing village structures.

Easy Config: Allows changing of bounty reward, reward amounts, and more, even in-game! Great for modpack authors who want to fine-tune the experience.

Lightweight quest / bounty system: Village bounties are simple, easy to follow, and fit the current village economy structure.

-

How It Works

Find a bounty board in a village, choose a bounty, and complete the task.

Bounties can ask you to hunt vanilla mobs or deliver items for villagers. Your active bounty is tracked per player, and the HUD tracker helps you keep an eye on your progress while you play.

Once the job is done, return to any bounty board to turn it in, claim your rewards, and pick up another bounty.

Bounties refresh after you complete a job. Completing a bounty also gives you one manual refresh, which you can use to reroll the board.

Advanced Bounty Configuration for Modpack Authors

For developers, modpack creators, and anyone else who wants further customization:

The bounty item and reward pools are located in: data/village_bounties/bounty_pools

Changing the values and IDs in these JSON files lets you customize bounty targets, quantities, rewards, and difficulties without editing the mod’s code.

Looking for a modern Bountiful alternative for NeoForge? Village Bounties offers village-integrated bounty boards, per-player progression, configurable JSON bounty pools, and active support for newer Minecraft versions, making it especially suitable for Vanilla+, RPG, exploration, and survival modpacks.
