Description

VisionCore (Fabric Client Mod)

Short Description (under 150 characters):

Fabric client mod for servers running VisionCore. Renders smooth hardware 3D spell circles, shields, and glowing rune geometry directly on your GPU.

What is VisionCore?

VisionCore is an optional client-side companion mod for Minecraft servers running the VisionCore plugin. It moves visual effect rendering directly to your GPU, delivering smooth, glowing 3D geometry at your monitor's native refresh rate.

You do not need this mod installed to join a server running VisionCore. Vanilla players can still join normally, as the server automatically falls back to vanilla particles for players without the mod. Installing this mod simply replaces particle approximations with true 3D hardware-rendered graphics.

Current Status: What is Active Now?

Active Now: 3D Visual Effects (VFX) The 3D magic circle and rune rendering engine is fully enabled and ready for everyday play.

Under Active Development (Experimental): Additional systems (keyframe player animations, custom mob models, and cinematic camera tracks) are experimental and in active development. They will be unlocked in upcoming updates.

Active Features

  • Hardware 3D Spell Circles: Magic circles, barriers, and rune rings render as crisp vector geometry directly in world space rather than particle clouds.
  • No Particle Lag: Because effects are drawn on your GPU, they bypass Minecraft's hard cap of 16,384 particles, never drop your frame rate, and will not get culled by "Minimal Particles" video settings.
  • Automatic Server Sync: Effect blueprints, textures, and colors stream from the server when you join. You never need to install separate resource pack updates when the server adds new spells.
  • Shader and Sodium Friendly: Built from the ground up to work smoothly with Sodium, Iris Shaders, Nvidium, and Embeddium. Glowing elements render through standard Minecraft additive passes.

Features In Development (Coming Soon)

Work is currently underway on the following systems, which will be activated in upcoming updates:

  • Keyframe Player Animations: Smooth multi-limb animations for weapon skills and casting stances without server-side armor stand lag.
  • Custom 3D Mob Models: Dedicated model rendering and multi-part hitboxes for custom boss fights.
  • Cinematic Camera Paths: Smooth camera tracks for dungeon entries, boss cutscenes, and duel sequences.

Performance and Compatibility

  • Optimization Mods: Fully compatible with Sodium, Iris Shaders, Nvidium, and Embeddium.
  • Shaderpacks: Renders cleanly alongside shaders without visual artifacts or black boxes.
  • Resource Friendly: Idle overhead is practically zero. Geometry is only submitted to the GPU when an active spell effect is within your render distance.
