Description

Woodsy origins currently adds four origins themed around forest animals.

Requires Origins

Requires Pehkui

The Deer is a swift herbivorous creature, though fragile in some ways. Picking this origin alters your gameplay in the following manners:

  • When you sprint, you're faster. With this speed, you do a small amount of extra melee damage thanks to your antlers. Your jump height is boosted for as long as you run as well. You additionally swim faster.
    • Your regeneration speed is halved while sprinting or swimming.
  • Using your primary power key, you can listen for creatures surrounding you for ten seconds.
    • Non-crouching entities in a radius around you will look as if they have the glowing effect applied to them.
    • Using your secondary power key, you can perform an upwards leap off of the ground of up to three blocks. Four with a running start.
    • You are immune to damage from sweetberry bushes.
    • You take less fall damage.
    • You have less base hearts.
    • Arrows deal more damage to you.
    • Meat provides less nutrition.

The Fox is a cunning little thief. Picking this origin alters your gameplay in the following manners:

  • You sprint faster, though not in caverns.
  • You can leap into the air.
  • You take less fall damage.
  • Meat and sweetberries provide more nutrition. Glowberries make you glow!
  • You hunger slightly faster.
  • You have a "thief pouch" to store your stolen goods in.
  • You take more damage from drowning.
  • You have less base hearts.

Small but tenacious, The Hedgehog is a famous resident of the forest. Picking this origin alters your gameplay in the following manners:

  • Your quills provide you natural protection from attackers, and in turn you know how to keep yourself from getting hurt by any other thorns.
  • You're nocturnal, you can toggle night-vision.
  • You swim faster.
  • Berries and apples provide more nutrition, while meat is far less nutritious. Even worse, eating meat gives you slowness- you're not meant to digest that!
  • You're small, and frail. You've got less health.
  • You've got small lungs and you're flammable, you take more damage from drowning and fire.

The beloved roomba of the forest floor. Picking this origin alters your gameplay in the following manners:

  • Creepers, Skeletons, and Zombies think you're one of them.  You've played dead enough to be viewed as an average undead- Though other creatures might not be tricked as easily...
    • Using your secondary power key, you can "actively play dead". You will go invisible for 30 seconds, but playing dead takes out a lot from your little body. At the same time, you'll gain weakness for 40 seconds.
    • You have immunity to poison.
    • You've got an extra inventory, as you're quite good at carrying various little things on your back.
    • You get more nutrition from spider eyes (They're close enough to ticks, right?)
    • Meat is less nutritious.
    • You're not great at swimming.
    • You have less health, and you're small.
