Description

🕷️ Arachnophobia – All the Worst Phobias at Once

Arachnophobia is a fear-focused horror survival modpack for Minecraft 1.20.1 (Forge), designed to combine multiple real-world phobias into one relentless and oppressive experience. Rather than relying on cheap jumpscares, the modpack builds constant psychological tension through darkness, hostile environments, unsettling creatures, and the feeling that the world itself does not want you there.

Spiders infest places they shouldn’t, darkness actively threatens the player, oceans feel endless and suffocating, abandoned cities hide danger around every corner, and strange lunar events twist the rules of survival. Safety is temporary, visibility is limited, and every decision carries real risk.

😱 Core Fear Themes

Arachnophobia targets multiple phobias at once by amplifying spider encounters and infestations, transforming darkness into a mechanical threat, introducing hostile snakes and ambush predators, making deep oceans vast and terrifying, filling the world with decaying abandoned megacities, and using cursed celestial events such as blood moons and eclipses to make nights increasingly dangerous.

🌍 World, Exploration & Atmosphere

The world is massive, ruined, and hostile. Players explore sprawling continents, dense forests, deep oceans, and enormous Lost Cities overtaken by decay. Seasonal changes, immersive weathering, flowing fluids, dynamic lighting, environmental sound effects, rain, and visual enhancements combine to create a constant sense of unease. Exploration is slow and deliberate, and rushing into unknown areas without preparation is often fatal.

⚔️ Survival & Progression

Survival emphasizes preparation, awareness, and long-term planning. Food quality, comfort, seasons, and resource management matter at all times. Death carries consequences through revival mechanics, hostile AI punishes careless movement, traps and environmental hazards discourage reckless exploration, and progression is intentionally slower to preserve tension. The modpack supports both solo and cooperative play, but teamwork greatly increases survival chances.

⚙️ Performance, Stability & Optimization

Arachnophobia places a strong focus on performance and long-term stability. Extensive optimization, memory management, rendering improvements, and engine-level fixes ensure smooth gameplay even in large worlds, dense environments, massive cities, and multiplayer servers, without sacrificing atmosphere or visual quality.

🎯 Intended Experience

Arachnophobia is built for players who want psychological horror instead of cheap jumpscares, exploration that constantly feels unsafe and tense, survival pressure from both the environment and hostile creatures, strong performance and long-term stability, and a world intentionally designed to make the player feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.
