Description

                                       [Warning: Modpack currently in Alpha]
(Make sure to check out my other mods & Addons! All high quality!)
Arduous Journey is a Forge Modpack that strives to give you a unique and challenging experience with decent performance.

It has everything you would expect, Large dungeons and structures, modded bosses and mobs, magic, unique armor and tools, better terrain and caves, difficulty scaling, etc.

Then it has more...

 -Consistency & Immersion

To make sure everything feels connected, 40+ structures have been edited to contain things from other mods. So when your exploring, no structure will be missing any modded elements or modded mobs!

Furthermore, the style of the mobs themselves are kept consistent too. Every mob is animated, even the Vanilla ones, and every modded mob actually look like they fit in Minecraft so nothing will look jarring, out of place and/or confusing.

-Unique
Mods have been created, modified or backported to enhance the content/experience of the modpack.

For example, this modpack Quest mod. While playing you will be able to come across optional quests from villagers or Humans where y
ou will be able to choose dialouge options to talk with the NPC and have actual conversations during a quest. Based off your dialouge choices or actions, you will affect how the quest ends and what rewards you get.

(Basically these quests are not only designed to expand the lore of your world but actually be fun, not just get x item for x reward)

[Quest mod not in the modpack yet]

-Non-linear Story

This Modpack also gives you a long term goal to work towards and accomplish in a way that doesn't restrict how you play or reach this goal. That way you always have something to work towards whenever you want!

(Basically content doesn't end after you killed the Ender Dragons)

I wont mention the story here, you will get the idea when you see the animated cutscene at the start of the modpack.

[Cutscene not in modpack yet]

 -Difficulty and balance

This modpack is meant to be be difficult and challenging but it isn't meant to be frustrating or hardcore.

Overtime mobs will get harder with better gear and strength but won't actually get smarter until you reach certain areas of the game, letting you partly play at your own pace as long as you perpare.

Rushing without preperation and strategy will only get you killed.

 -and more!

I rather not say everything in the description, give the modpack a try and decide if you like it!

 I m
ade this modpack mostly by myself over the span of nearly three years but even with testing, mistakes happen.

If you find any issues, balance problems, immersion breaks, spelling errors, report it in the comments or my Discord server. (Link at bottom)

Q & A (Including how to fix issues)

When will Modpack be done?

Estimated time: Mid 2025

Whats missing?: Backported mods | Animated cutscene intro | Custom bosses | Side quest mod | More custom mods | Certain story elements | Final boss & end of story | additional tweaks

Whats done?: Mods, Resource packs & Datapacks put together & configured | Modified Mods, Resource pack & Datapacks | Custom mods (Look at the mods on my profile) | Edited structures

Want me to finish the Modpack sooner?: Donate. I pay people to do things I cant like custom music or models, I having been paying for everything myself which is slow.

Best settings for performance?
If you want to optimize your game I recommend turning off View Bobbing, Entity Shadows, put Biome blend on 1, put Leaves on Default, put entity render distance to 75%, put Dynamic Lighting on a delay or off, put Particles to decreased, lower Mipmapping to 2 and use a render distance of 8. Remove these mods/resource packs: "Villager Names", "Visual Workbench", "Not Enough Animations", "Easy Magic", "Easy Anvils", "Eating Animations", and "Animated Furnaces"

How well does it run on servers?
I highly recommend playing with only a small group of players or less for this kind of modpack due to quests, difficulty and the players actions effecting the world overtime.

How to remove fog?
Pause, Options, Video Settings, Render, Single Fog, slide Single Fog to OFF

Why are the Leaves 2D?

Graphics must be on Fancy to prevent this or remove "Better Foliage" Renewed mod

Why are the Leaves see through?
Put Leaves quality to Default or Fancy to fix this.

Why is the grass black?
Smooth lighting needs to be on to fix this. (or just pretend grass is sometimes black in this universe!)
