Description

I made this modpack for me and my friends with focus on survival, mining, building and horror (everything that we love about Minecraft)

Content:

Player progression is slowed down a bit, as stone tier requires bones instead of sticks for crafting (thanks to @Meganobody for inspiration!). Furthermore, iron ore is acquired by nothing lower than iron tier.

To mitigate sad feelings over the lack of iron tools in early game, copper tools were added.

Diamonds require polishing on a diamond grindstone.

Some distractions were removed, like: unsatisfiable hunger, annoying phantoms, greedy villagers, endermen, enchantments, the End, the Nether, the deep dark, F3, sleep and the majority of other related things.

Raw food can poison you, new stack limits to the majority of foods and new health restoration values.

Zombies can spawn with iron pickaxe now, but only deep underground!

Netherite and quartz generate in the Overworld now.

Upgrade templates are obtained by defeating bosses (the Wither and the Berserk).

Tool, weapon and armour properties were tweaked to compensate for the lack of enchantments without hurting the gameplay loop.

And more...

Additionally, to reduce the stress from dying, partial KeepInventory is ON by default! Just in case you die to something BAD, EVIL and UNJUST

List of advice:

There is no proper way of playing this modpack. You can get carried by luck and get an iron pickaxe the moment you step into caves without much preparation and saving a lot of time. Anyway, to make your experience smoother, here are some tips.

  1. Stock up on wood for charcoal and sticks. Caves and moonless nights are extremely dark without torches, so in case you can't find any coal you won't die in absolute darkness at least.
  2. You can hold torches in your off-hand to light your way and throw them very far away by holding Q. If you want something sticky, you can use glowsticks.
  3. Get as much food as possible, as you will receive a lot of cheap damage throughout your survival.
  4. When the first night ends, you can get on the surface to pick up bones from dead skeletons. Or craft a wooden shield and get them by force!
  5. To look up recipes, hover your cursor over an item and press R, or U to see in which crafts it is used.
  6. Make bundles to organise your inventory.
  7. The deeper you go, the more ore you will get.
  8. Use Depth Gauge to see your elevation, and Magnetic Compass to find your position in the world.
  9. Iron weapons deal the most damage to undead, even more than the Netherite.
  10. With Golden Tools can obtain blocks undamaged
  11. Watch your back, something is lurking.
  12. Hold a Parachute in your inventory to save you from falling to your death.
  13. You can get soul sand in the Overworld by combining 4 blocks of Sand and 1 Bone Meal, and Wither Sculls by cooking Skeleton Sculls in a furnace.
  14. Till grass blocks to get wheat seeds.
  15. Don't eat with Lead in your hotbar

  16. There is no use in playing with maximum brightness, so you may play with "moody" brightness for the first time!

FAQ

Q: I really like your modpack, but I know how to make it even better. How can I help?
A: Feel free to leave your ideas in my discord server! I am full of bad ones, so it would be great to have some fresh heads!
