This modpack really had me play very differently than ever, usually other modpacks I play I go explore, find places and structures, get gear and fight bosses, but this modpack honestly felt like a nice change from that gameplay loop, now I focus on building machines, making a nice automatic base, have weird mechanics made for this modpack specifically, and the quest line is so helpful and really what makes this modpack unique, if you want a simple space and factory with a little bit of moon exploring, this modpack is for you

The idea behind this modpack is that it's all about automating everything with Create. It's an idea that's been done well by Create: Above and Beyond, but there have been too few modpacks that have tried to do something similar in a way that is good. This modpack tries and gets far, but falters in a few ways.

My main gripe is that the way the tech tree/things you can automate grows much too quickly in the early game.

For example; ore automation. Mining is an absolute chore without vein miner or tools that make it much faster than base vanilla. Haephestus (aka Tinkers Construct for Fabric) is in the pack, but its pickaxes aren't particularly faster than vanilla ones in the early game. It still takes half an hour of mining to get the materials needed to build a single automation line. I just want to build the automation, not mine for so long! But good news, there's a way to automate ores! However, each ore requires a long and very complicated process to automate which is in no way beginner/early game friendly. If someone very experienced with Create were to go at it, I'm sure they'd be able to cobble together something even in the early game! However, I'm not that experienced with Create, so it's something that will require a lot of time, space, resources, and tools I haven't unlocked yet to set up. So now I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place; either spend my time doing boring tedious mining, or flounder around to set up automation for a single ore and inevitably fail because of the complexity and resources the setup requires.

I'll admit, it's only a single thing and the rest of the pack is probably wonderful. But it's also a MASSIVE pain point that I consider bad game design that robbed all the fun out of playing the pack. I know it's called MINEcraft, but modpacks don't have to stay true to the original minecraft formula/gameplay cycles. Just let me build my factories, start with a few easy challenges that SLOWLY lead up to more and harder challenges, like a narrow cone instead of a stupidly wide one. Don't overwhelm your players with too much to do so early on, and especially don't front-load the tedium. You want them invested in the modpack first before you start introducing challenges that have it.

Version 2.1 is OUT after a year and a half. We hope you enjoy the QoL and features we've been cooking :)

Link to the Official OST!

Waking up on a planet underneath a shattered moon, you begin discovering the technology of a civilisation long past.

The cogwheels must turn. The planet is not your boundary: you must expand to the stars above. Automate, industrialize, revolutionize the solar system.

Mid-banner

Are you disappointed that many modpacks get to the end of progression before you can access the moon? Are their planets barren and uninspired most of the time? We’re fixing that.

The progression of Create: Astral finds you working up through 5+ chapters of quests packed to the brim with Create-themed processes and support for limitless automation. Custom recipes have been introduced to support HUGE factories and mass item renewability at a level you may not have seen within the Fabric 1.18.2 Ecosystem.

Planets tie into the progression of the pack. They are not a goal but a path leading you through exploring a fully customized Moon, Mars, and Mercury, featuring worldgen changes, huge structure overhauls, custom oregen, mobs, and more!

Mid-banner

You achieve the ability early on to create a new portal type using Shimmer and special new items made from moon rock scattered around the overworld. On and beyond the Moon lie various resources including Nether resources, making engaging with space a rewarding integral experience… Discover technology to industrialise and blast off to Mars! Mercury even!

Entirely customized (and some original!) datapacks developed by the talented team behind the pack with structures for exploration, changed structure generation to fit into the modpack balance and reworked loot tables to reward exploration. The pack also features custom blocks and items for you to discover!

Mid-banner

Months were spent getting as stable an environment as possible. This pack features most of the important fabric performance mods to allow even weaker PC's to run shaders in a heavily modded environment! All benchmarking was done on 1080 + 5600X to reach 144fps on 8 chunks with the complementary reimagined preset included within the mod. The server package has also been optimized for low TPS fluctuations and stability.

Mid-banner

The pack plays into the challenge of creating daunting new farms intended for experts. However, a carefully developed in-game quest book provides thorough explanation to let any budding engineer have the knowledge needed to become experts themselves.
