About reputation ranksThis modpack is an engaging yet extremely demanding project. Before starting, players should understand: this modpack doesn't forgive superficial approaches. It requires equal attention to exploration and combat, as well as deep, sometimes sweat-inducing crafting.
When it comes to automation, there's one fundamental point to note. While the author has nothing against conventional solutions, I personally categorically reject the use of resource-intensive farms that create excessive server load. A prime example is the Create mod's cobblestone generator, where a minecart with an activator transforms into an entity to break and collect blocks. This process, despite its simplicity, generates unnecessary lag and, in my opinion, represents the wrong approach to gameplay. That's exactly why I consider such methods suboptimal and recommend avoiding them in favor of more stable alternatives.
The progression system through bosses deserves special attention. Weapons for fighting stronger opponents are crafted from components obtained from weaker bosses. This creates an interesting but asymmetrical situation: players who enjoy combat get their fill without extra obstacles — their playstyle fully aligns with the modpack's requirements. However, those who prefer crafting and building find themselves at a disadvantage: the modpack forces them out of their comfort zone to hunt for materials that can only be obtained from powerful bosses. This mechanic creates discomfort for builders and once again emphasizes that the modpack is designed for team play with role division.
Controversial mechanics that reflect the author's personal attitude toward certain mods also deserve attention. First, there's the food system. Two mods work together here: the first introduces food parameters (sugar, vegetables, fruits), requiring strict balance — otherwise, excess causes negative effects; the second reduces saturation when eating the same food repeatedly. The concept itself seems logical, but in practice, the mechanic is more of a hindrance than a depth enhancer. Second, the intentional complication of backpacks and their modules stands out. Clearly, this functionality was added under community pressure, against the author's wishes, and as "punishment," the crafting recipes were made extremely laborious.
Also worth mentioning is the temperature mechanic — you can die from extreme heat or cold, adding another survival layer. Finally, there's the modified sleep mechanic: morning doesn't arrive instantly but seems accelerated. In my opinion, this solution is unnecessary for a modpack that's already overloaded with complex mechanics.
From a technical perspective, the modpack has architectural nuances. As someone accustomed to clear separation between client and server modpacks, I can note: this modpack is primarily designed for single-player. Connecting to a server with the full client set only unnecessarily loads the player's PC with mods that aren't needed for multiplayer. The developer provided a separate server version to simplify setup, but unfortunately, it still needs refinement.
Another important technical aspect is performance. It's obvious that the modpack author owns a powerful PC, so the modpack wasn't initially designed for weaker machines. Players with budget hardware have to handle fine-tuning themselves: manually disabling numerous visual effects that add aesthetics but serve no functional purpose. The author, unfortunately, didn't account for this factor, leaving optimization for weaker PCs entirely on users' shoulders.
In conclusion, covering all aspects of this modpack alone — from monotonous work to fighting strong enemies — is practically impossible without burnout. The ideal scenario for this modpack is playing with a group. The team should be diverse: at early stages, it's critical to divide roles between those who handle routine crafting and building, and those who act as gatherers and explorers. This modpack won't let you relax, but if you have the right company and patience, it can deliver a unique experience.
