Description
A post-apocalypse survival shooter. The infected hear you coming.
Federation Of Kaos drops you into the ruined Lost Cities during an ongoing outbreak. The infected hear your sprint and your gunfire, and an Outbreak Director turns sustained noise into hordes and Special Infected. You scavenge TaCZ firearms that wear, jam and need parts, build an armour-gated augment loadout with jetpacks, shields and plasma weapons, manage thirst, temperature and wounds, and then take the Federation's work: bounty contracts against named marks and missions across the map, paid in Kaos Credits.
Nine custom Federation Of Kaos mods are the spine of the pack, on top of about sixty community mods. Difficulty never comes from bigger numbers: pressure comes from systems that react to what you do, and every one of them has a counterplay you can prepare.
The pack in one line each:
- Environmental pressure: Outbreak Protocol's infected, Director and infection, plus Legendary Survival Overhaul's temperature, thirst and limb damage 🧟
- Tactical combat: TaCZ guns made finite by Kaos Protocol's blueprints, wear, jams, fouling, repair scars and part quality 🔫
- Player augmentation: Augment Protocol's slots, 31 augments and charges, with Carry Pack in the back slot ⚡
- The work loop: Kaos Hunter contracts and Kaos Missions runs paid in Credits, Chunk Anchor to keep the base running, Pocket Domain as the reward 💰
🧟 Outbreak Protocol: the threat

Every zombie is infected and every one of them investigates noise: walking is silent, sprinting, mining and gunfire are not. Four common infected and seven Special Infected (Brute, Screamer, Stalker, Spitter, Lasher, Bloater, Death Bat), each with a tell and a counter. The Director keeps a noise budget that is yours and a tension meter that is its own: a firefight calls a horde of up to sixty from out of sight, a quiet stretch ends with a patrol, a trickle or a special, and every horde is followed by a guaranteed respite. A bite starts a 24-hour infection clock that ends with you rising as a zombie in your own gear unless the vaccine chain cures you. Survivor tools: the Perimeter Beacon safety dome, the Sleeping Bag and the City Waystone into the Lost Cities. Project page.
🔫 Kaos Protocol: guns that die

Only the Glock is craftable from the start; every other TaCZ gun is learned by salvaging one you found, with a gem, at a grindstone. Guns wear per shot and go dead at zero. Under Realism, worn guns jam and fouling builds until you clean it. The Gun Repair Table restores condition for iron but every repair leaves a permanent scar, so a gun survives about six rebuilds and then it is scrap. Every gun is an assembly of a Barrel, an Action and a Frame from Common to Legendary, fitted at the Gun Upgrade Bench, so loot stays a parts hunt. A silencer cuts the infected's aggro radius by three quarters and costs you damage and fouling. Heavy weapons are loot-only events. Project page.
⚡ Augment Protocol: your build

The vanilla armour you wear sets how many passive, active and flex augment slots you have, from one bare slot to seven at full netherite plus an ultimate. Fill them from a catalog of 31 augments: Jetpack, Dash, Double Jump, Parachute and the Arrow Chain grapple; Hostile Radar, Night and Thermal Vision, Ore Scanner and the Tactical HUD; Personal Shield, Last Stand, Advanced Regen and Life Support; Plasma Shot, Plasma Crossbow, Plasma Blade and Rage; Recall and Recall Pads; the Self Destruct ultimate. Actives fire on I / J / K / L and are paid for with Stims, charges, energy cells or cooldowns. A Build Profile shows your role and seven augment synergies. Project page.
🎒 Carry Pack: the only backpack

Four tiers of backpack from 54 to 120 slots that open only when worn or set down. Set one down and its augments turn it into a field station: Field Furnace, Field Stove, the Gunsmith Kit (the only field gun repair), Ammo Press, Field Medic Kit, Perimeter Alarm, Recall Anchor and Owner Lock. Worn, it feeds your reloads, keeps you hydrated, armours your back and quiets your footsteps. One pack per player, nothing nests, and a worn pack drops with you when you die unless it rides in Augment Protocol's gear back slot. Project page.
💰 Credits, Kaos Hunter and Kaos Missions: the work loop

Kaos Credits are a balance you keep through death, earned only by finishing quest content and spent only at the Broker, whose stock opens with your record and never sells firepower. Credits project page.
Kaos Hunter posts thirteen named, human-shaped marks on a world-global Bounty Board, three per tier. A contract mark starts hundreds of blocks away and keeps wandering while you track it with Tracking Beacons, an Intel Report and the Bounty Tracker augment. Bow marks kite, crossbow marks burst and reload, sword marks dash in; every ability shows a tell. Cancel a contract and the mark hunts you. Kills pay credits and HunterPack parts toward an elite augment, the Underground Market spends credits on raw materials, and beaten posters go on your wall. Project page.

Kaos Missions adds five runs to the board's Missions tab, three rolled offers a day: Courier (carry Sealed Cargo to a Drop Box and hold it through the uplink fight), Salvage Op (hold a Salvage Node in a Lost City under fire, then carry the Tech Core home), Dead Man's Intel (carry a Cipher Drive while a named mark pursues you), Hold the Relay (raise a mast, dig in for five minutes, hold three waves) and Last Survivor (escort a bitten civilian home before they turn). Payloads take your back slot or jam your Recall, ambushes roll while you move, and every mission block cleans itself up. Project page.
🏡 Pocket Domain and Chunk Anchor: somewhere to come home to

Pocket Domain is an augment that shimmers you out of the world into your own glass box floating in the sky of a private realm, where no hostile mob can ever enter. Three furnished tiers, from a cabin to an estate with a beacon and trading hall, are unlocked with cores sold by the Bounty Board's Broker as your contract record grows, and a Pocket Portal lets friends in. Project page.

Chunk Anchor is one block that keeps its chunk loaded and ticking while you are away, so farms, furnaces and redstone keep running. Two per player, idle thirty minutes after you log off, and no per-tick cost of its own. Project page.
🌍 The world around them
About sixty community mods carry the rest. TaCZ (Timeless and Classics Zero) with LesRaisins Tactical Equipements and ChaosCraft Apocalyptic Arsenal for the guns and melee. Legendary Survival Overhaul for temperature, thirst and localized body damage, with Corpse keeping your body's items. The Lost Cities with LC²H, the Autogen profile, ChaosZPack and Keerdm's Zombie Apocalypse Essentials for the ruined cities, plus Towns and Towers, Lootr and Supplementaries. Waystones and Xaero's minimap and world map for navigation. Mowzie's Mobs bosses and Alex's Mobs wildlife. Create and Create Deco, Immersive Weathering, JEI, Patchouli guide books, Embeddium and Oculus for shaders, and a FancyMenu title and loading screen. Five resource packs and three shader packs (BSL, Bliss, Complementary Unbound) are referenced too.
🚀 Getting started
- Install through the CurseForge app. It downloads Forge, the nine FOK mods and every community mod, resource pack and shader pack the pack references. Give the profile 6 to 8 GB of RAM.
- New worlds pre-select the Lost Cities profile for the ChaosZPack cities.
- On first join you get a starter loadout: a worn iron helmet and boots, a Glock at 2% condition, a Field Ration, a Tactical HUD augment, and four guide books including the FOK Field Manual. Read the manual first, build a Gun Repair Table early, and craft gunpowder from flint, sugar and charcoal.
- Open your inventory and press Augments Gear to fit augments; actives are on I / J / K, flex on L, the ultimate on U. Press Y to open a worn Carry Pack.
- Avoid sprinting, mining and unsuppressed fire near idle infected: the Director is listening. When you are ready for work, find a Bounty Board.
- Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge 47.4.10. Client and server need the same mod versions.
Every FOK mod is its own CurseForge project with a full description, and each works on its own in other packs. Found a bug? Send the profile's logs/latest.log with what you were doing.
