Why use this?
Minecraft's default memory management can sometimes cause sudden lag spikes (garbage collection pauses) when the RAM fills up. These arguments optimize how Java handles and releases unused memory in the background, keeping your gameplay smooth even with many mods loaded. How to apply them in CurseForge:
- Open the CurseForge App.
- Click on the Settings cogwheel icon (bottom-left corner).
- Go to the Minecraft tab under Game Specific.
- Scroll down to the Additional Arguments text box.
- Paste the following line of code into the box:
-XX:+UseG1GC -XX:+ParallelRefProcEnabled -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=200 -XX:+UnlockExperimentalVMOptions -XX:+DisableExplicitGC -XX:+AlwaysPreTouch -XX:G1NewSizePercent=30 -XX:G1MaxNewSizePercent=40 -XX:G1HeapRegionSize=8M -XX:G1ReservePercent=20 -XX:G1HeapWastePercent=5 -XX:G1MixedGCCountTarget=4 -XX:InitiatingHeapOccupancyPercent=15 -XX:G1MixedGCLiveThresholdPercent=90 -XX:G1RSetUpdatingPauseTimePercent=5 -XX:SurvivorRatio=32 -XX:+PerfDisableSharedMem -XX:MaxTenuringThreshold=1
