Description
Skies and Steel: Modern Combat, Air Power, and Epic Worlds
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This
A combat & travel mod pack that combines modern weapons, player-created airpower, and dramatic geography. You will craft guns that have real purposes in combat, build and fly airplanes to attack from above, with terrain that varies greatly in how you move about, explore, and engage in combat. The mod pack has been balanced with smooth gameplay on mid-range computers.
Features and What You Will Experience
Weapons and combat
- Modern guns with functions include sidearms for backup firepower, SMGs for room clearance, assault rifles for medium-range combat, DMRs/Snipers for ranged targets, and Shotguns for breach clearance.
- Impact: You use the correct weapon to fight opponents. Close-range fights are faster; ranged fights are accurate after reconnaissance.
- Attachments and customizations:
Scopes with various zoom levels; suppressors; grips; stocks; extended magazines; types of ammo (FMJ, AP, Tracers).
- Effect: You adjust recoil, range, and audio settings. A silenced carbine will enable you to clear outposts without warning the entire camp.
- Crafting and maintenance: components, gun oil, work benches, and upgrade trees.
- Effect: The guns feel earned and earned. It is important to maintain one’s gear during prolonged running.
- Ballistic and hit feeds: accurate recoil, bullet drop with range, and clear hit indicators.
- Impact: Long shots require skill; mastering the drop will make you dangerous from a ridge or plane.
Airplanes and air gameplay
- Buildable planes: light scout planes, cargo haulers, fighter/bombers.
- Impact: You trade off speed, cargo capacity, and firepower. Fighters get air support; cargo planes transport base sets.
- Modeling flight ranges with fuel and weight considerations: Tanks, containers, run-ups, airports are significant.
- Impact: You design missions. Radius, payload capacity, and places to land suddenly are options.
- Air combat equipment such as forward guns, light bombs/rockets (if allowed), flares (for defense).
- Impact: Dogfights and air-to-ground strikes introduce new tactics.Soft targets and vehicle columns are vulnerable to attacks from above.
- Ground Support Loop: construct and establish airstrips, manufacture spare parts, mend damages.
- Impact:
Your starting network centers on air lanes. You enjoy the logistics payout with smooth raiding operations.
Terrain and world generation
- High relief world gen: High relief features include cliffs, river gorges, mesas, plains, forests, and beaches.
- Effect: It has natural chokepoints, sniper nests, and areas that are hazardous to land. Each route is different.
- Points of interest: airfields, bandit camps, ruined depots, radar towers.
- Effect: You receive defined raid and loot objectives and areas that are excellent sites to establish forward bases.
- Resource logic: Orebands on cliffsides, energy resources near lowlands areas, valuable items to find on dangerous sites.
- Effect: The terrain leads your route. You fly to scout, then use intelligent routes to move on foot.
**Progression and game loop**
{
- Early game (Day 1-3): Build initial pistol/SMG, build glider/light plane and scout out area with flat land. Camp raiding for components and scopes.
- Experience: High risk, rapid rewards. You get to know about recoil, cliff lands, and secret routes.
- Mid game: Construct ARs/DMRs. Construct a real runway. Store fuel. Begin cargo flights to forward bases.
- Experience:
- Strategic play. You manage an area, supply lines, and multi-step raid plans.
- Late game: use field snipers and fighters, load AP ammo, destroy strongholds, and maintain air superiority.
- Experience:
- Set piece battles.
- Working combined arms with air support and over-watch.
Multiplayer & Co-op
- Roles that matter: pilot, gunner, spotter, quartermaster
- Effect: The team functions better. A spotter calls the wind and range; pilot sets you on target; ground team clears and holds.
- 'Server friendly options': adjust gun damage, armor values, auto HP values, item drop rates, and render distance.
- Impact: Admins can balance for PvE story runs or tight PvP gameplay.
Base building and logistics
- Airstrip equipment such as beacons, lights on runways, repair surfaces, fuel pumps.
- Impact: You create a true network. Night operations and extended-range missions are made safe.
- Storage and ammo flow: ammo benches, crates, and labels.
- Effect: Spend less time sorting and more time brawling and soaring.
Publicspace and Activatingpublic
- Recoil settings and scope choices, colorblind-friendly tracers, customizable crosshairs.
- Impact: You can adjust the feel and readableness to your taste.
- World gen and entity count optimizations, with options for lower-end machines.
- Impactdetail:
Big views and fast fights without heavy stutter.
Example moments you can expect
- Low-pass reconnaissance: You fly over a canyon in a scout plane and designate targets for three AA nests. Then you land on a grass runway that you cut out yesterday.
- Silent breach - Night drop two squads near the depot with suppressors on. Quick breach and get the avionics. Exfil at dawn.
-Ridge duel: You and a buddy hold a cliff with DMRs while a fighter conducts a strafing run to repel a counter-push.
- Airlift build: Fly prefabs and fuel to a distant mesa, place lights, and improve a rough plateau area to create your forward operating base. Why this pack feels different - Combat has depth but remains readable: there are clear roles, clear feedback, and opportunities to improve one's skills. - War in the air is no gimmick; there are fuel considerations, weight factors, and airfields to think about. - Terrain is part of the gameplay; it influences every plan, every battle, and every landing. Toggle settings that are optional in your server/world - **Realism**: more difficult recoil simulation, minimal HUD display, strict fuel management. - Arcade mode: less recoil, faster-landing projectiles, lower-cost ammo. - Hardcore Logistics: Airplanes must be maintained; guns deteriorate faster but are more accurate. What you will get as a player - A closed and iterative process involving scout, plan, strike, and expand. - “Gear that feels earned and gets better with more use.” - Worlds that remain full of surprises and challenge you to think in 3D—on your feet and in the air.
