This pack is really fun to play. While it seems like just a typical kitchen sink pack, there is a lot of care put into the quests, unique content, and integrating it all into a single experience. There are a handful of recipe changes to integrate different mods into each other's progression which is a neat thing. The quests are really well made and give you a decent introduction the the different mods. The selection of mods included are really nice. There's new ones that were fun to check out, and some old classic ones. The pack offers so much variety in what you can do. Magic, Tech, Adventure, Fighting, etc and doesn't try to lean too much in any direction. The pack does tend to perform rather badly mainly due to the old minecraft version and just the amount of mods the pack has.

MC Eternal is what you wish all large, kitchen-sink modpacks were like. It's the perfect mix of minecraft-feeling yet distinct, fun, and a huge variety of mods and content.

MC Eternal also has a HUGE amount of quests, in a ton of different categories, (not all locked behind progression milestones), and never leaves your bored or wondering what to do next. I love quests in my modpacks, but only when it's done right. This is one of those instances.

I do also have to say that the quest book/quest system is one of the best around. (For the reasons listed above and below). It just never leaves you bored or confused.

MC Eternal also never leans too hard in any particular direction. It's never too magic-oriented, too tech-oriented, or too vanilla feeling, it has the perfect combination of the best modpacks and best playstyles.

As for cons, it has the same cons as any huge modpack. Not the best performance, a bit overwhelming if you're not ready, and isn't on the most modern versions. Who cares, I'd still say it's one of the best large modpacks around.

Play it if you haven't, I highly recommend it.

This is a kitchen sink modpack with some changes to progression so that you don't get overwhelmed with the amount of mods you can mess with in the early game. Overall is pretty fun and there is something for everybody here but because of the nature of kitchen sink modpacks it makes it so that at times it feels disjointed and some of the changes to mods may raise eyebrows

I do love some adventure packs, exploring dungeons and castles and dragon nests, the nether dungeons, the end cities, it is personally enjoyable to explore and see new things. The magic set in the pack is friendly to new users of magic and simplistic, if you're not getting into thaumcraft, of course. Thaumcraft best mod, fite me. It's well curated and developed actively by its community and even has a few fun forks.

Performance wise it can be a little struggle on a server, especially with many people on it, but with just a few, its very good enough. I can attribute that to it being the MC version 1.12 being a little derpy, especially with outdated java.

Aesthetics are top tier, with some offputting things sometimes which brings it to 4. The feel of adventure will never really be topped, especially with the inclusion of the swamp dimension mod. Don't wanna spoil it.

Gameplay is as gameplay is. Magic, tech, exploration, misc, things, it's got it. It doesn't bind mods together too often but it is fun to play around in the heightened danger of the mobs, dungeons and bosses. They are jacked, and you better be too or it's not gonna be hardcore friendly. Heh.

4.5/5, can't wait for MCE2.

⋆ The Better Late Than Never Update Available now!

I've spent the last 3 years and counting, handcrafting a fun and fresh new modded experience. There is plenty to discover in all aspects of Eternal and there are plenty of unique twists to keep you engaged. MCE uses basic crafting recipes. I realized blending the fun parts from the likes of modded skyblock (quests, shop, etc along with RPG elements) in a kitchen sink pack that's not too complicated turns out is super enjoyable for all types of players (especially with friends! :D) *Get rewarded for doing whatever you feel like doing with the expansive optional questing system!*

There is a huge emphasis on using not so known mods that I deemed to be severely underrated, especially in the Adventuring aspect of the pack.

BH_MC_Eternal_Remake_Armour.pngCollage 1

Featuring some questing chapters such as "Challenges" which is full of weird and wacky objectives like collect 1 million dirt, battle every boss in the game or build a Jaffa factory.

Or my personal favourite, the survive 30 hours without dying challenge

Over 30 more challenges ingame and difficulty varies along with rewards

Features

→ Hundreds of Tinkers Construct materials

Over 750 quests with more coming all the time!

Make and design massive multifaceted factories that can be as simple or unnecessarily overly complicated as you want

→ Dozens of tameable pets and creatures

Start your very own populated town with workers, citizens and builders using MineColonies

Entirely custom economy system which allows for players to pick a profession and sell to the Player Shop to earn currency!

Distinctive RPG elements wrapped with science into one giant bundle, pick and choose whatever you like the most. Are you are mage? mad scientist? farmer? all three? that decision is up to you!

Unique Bounty system which encourages exploration and sends you on wild adventures hunting down dangerous and elusive creatures! (Inside the Exploration chapter, find me!)

Custom dungeons, structures and bosses to explore, pillage and battle

Secrets and collectables to find and flaunt

→ Legendary Artifacts to collect and hunt down

Fully dynamic GUI shop where you can shop to your heart's desire for useful items or gimmicky useless joke items.

Shop

There are frequent updates along with one big patch monthly (normally)

Visit the Moon if you dare, face the entirely custom dimension with 3 unique bosses and over 35 custom structures.

There are countless monsters to challenge and dungeons to tackle in the Overworld, some so difficult bringing a friend may be advised! Nevermind the limitless potential of raiding and pillaging the 9+ dimensions this pack has to offer (With more custom exploration to come!)

Many of the mods that add bosses have been tweaked heavily

Darkness and night time have suddenly become a whole lot scarier, making use of the mod "Hardcore darkness" players must actually light up their base and caves or they will be in retroactive pitch darkness, increased monster spawns in the dark makes it a scarier time overall for the unprepared. (can be disabled for the faint of heart, however, it adds atmosphere)

The Beneath along with other dimensions has been heavily changed and optimized to allow for game progression, eg osmium specifically only spawns in the dark spooky Beneath. However, it is more common and spawns in larger ore veins! (I'd suggest bringing torches)

Tech mods big and small, this is a hybrid pack after all and there are plenty of opportunities for automation and advanced science!

→ Build a nuclear reactor? Check  Jetpacks? Check  Lasers? Check ✓ Create a giant array of high voltage solar panels? Check  Craft a power suit made for pure destruction? Check  Explore space and beyond the stars on a modular rocketship? Check!

Advanced Science

I'd like to think that keeping the recipes simple and less time-gated is just more fun for the average player

*Please note that there is slight gating in the pack however I believe it is not a pointless grind like other packs that tend to shoehorn in grinding to increase longevity, The gating present is carefully chosen to add to the overall player experience such as certain ores only spawning in specific dimensions to encourage exploration and to not flood the overworld with complex ores, or specific mods deemed slightly overpowered having a key resource spawn in a not so friendly environment*.

The overall goal is you should be slightly guided but also feel like you can do whatever you want, The questing system and currency you acquire by completing quests adds more depth to the gameplay and in general, just gives you more to do!

Quest Chapters

Quest Chapters are broken down into Introduction - Agriculture - Exploration - Magic and Spellcasting - Science -  Advanded Science - Space Exploration - Bosses - Challenges  The aim is to keep the player as on track as possible and when the player becomes bored they should have the option to say "I feel like doing some dungeons" or "I want some loot" and not have to be immediately bored and depressed with the dungeon content that's offered in most packs.

All Quest Chapters are fully optional and at no point will you feel pressured into doing something you aren't interested in doing or learning.

Full credit to all mod creators who have kindly let me use their mod in this pack, This would not be possible without them. Buy your favorite developer a coffee or something!
