Rustic Horizons 2.0 is finally out! After three months of development, this update completely overhauls nearly every major aspect of the pack, emphasizing progression, exploration, and bringing value to all those neglected areas of Minecraft. All of these changes have made Rustic Horizons 2.0 the biggest step yet toward the Rustic Horizons I’ve always envisioned : D
“What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives everything its value.” — Thomas Paine
ABOUT:
Rustic Horizons (or RH for short) is a medieval fantasy modpack that takes a different approach to the genre. Instead of making Minecraft into a whole other game, I tried my best to embrace and build around existing vanilla mechanics.
The goal of the modpack is to travel the world and collect items used to summon and locate bosses, but it isn’t quite that simple. Instead, players who take their time, engaging with commonly overlooked parts of the game such as farming and cooking, are rewarded far more than those who try to take shortcuts through progression.
One thing to keep in mind as you play: the easiest and most convenient way to accomplish something is rarely the most rewarding.
This pack was also *heavily* inspired by amazing projects like Raspberry and Matcha Flavored, but of course with an RPG spin on it : D
MAJOR FEATURES:
- Dozens of new biomes picked to blend naturally with Minecraft’s existing landscapes.
- New small and medium-sized structures designed to fill the world without ripping you out of immersion.
- New fantastical and real-world wildlife to make the world feel more lived in.
- Around 20 new bosses, each requiring preparation and progression before you can face them.
- Two new dimensions, each containing unique content, bosses, and major progression milestones.
- Four new equipment tiers built around unique alloys and a forging system.
- Every armor set has unique strengths and drawbacks, giving each one a distinct purpose and fit a different playstyle. No one set is superior.
- A strong emphasis on farming and cooking; dozens of new meals, with powerful buffs depending on the ingredients used.
- A collection of resource packs (including some of my own: D), to give the world a more polished, rustic feel.
- Atmospheric mods that enhance Minecraft’s visuals, sounds, and ambience, making it more immersive and dynamic.
- A bunch of carefully chosen performance mods and optimizations to keep the pack smooth on lower-end systems.
- A reworked Enchanting system with more control, less randomness, and better balance.
- Countless meaningful tweaks to recipes, mods, and mechanics to improve progression and remove unnecessary tedium.
- Plenty of secrets and easter eggs! Find them for yourself XD
I hope you enjoy playing this pack as much as I did making it : D A lot of love was put into it, not just by me, but from all my supporters and friends as well : )
