Better Map Zoom
Overview
For now, all this mod does is improve the vanilla map experience when zooming out, or scaling, a map. It does its best to persist the area you have already explored, which will scale down and remain in one of the quadrants of the newly zoomed out map. This saves a lot of exploration effort, especially in larger maps!
Known issues:
Because I'm downscaling existing pixel data and not doing a block by block recalculation, you may notice very slight pixel updates when rexploring the zoomed out areas that you've already been to.
