Below, you’ll find an example configuration file (version 2.1.0 of the mod) showcasing all the features the mod offers, along with in-line comments explaining what each setting does.

This mod has built-in compatibility with Curios API, letting you use the totem from the charm slot.
Has compatibility with Inventorio so you can use the Totem from utility belt.
I'm working on make the mod better compatible with Charm of Undying.

Better Beacons


An improvement of Minecraft's Totem of Undying, bringing new functionalities and a huge amount of customization for you Modpack developer.
Are you tired of double death situations? Where you have nothing to do and the Totem can't save you from your eventual death? This mod fix it for you. Let's introduce you to the new functionalities:
Void Protection - It might have happened to you, you are flying in The End above the void and eventually your elytra breaks, without this mod you would be dead, but with it you will be teleported safely to the islands and have another chance to keep living in your world.
Totem Knockback - Sometimes a swarm of mobs come and we can't escape from them, maybe we are stuck for some reason, if it happens to you, when the Totem activates, it will knockback the mobs away and you will be able to run and escape from them.
Suffocation Protection - Maybe you have been surprised by a incredible amount of gravel falling onto you or maybe you got stuck inside a block because of a bug, no matter what happened you don't wanna die, especially if you are in a Hardcore world. In this case, as soon as the Totem is activated it will destroy the blocks you are suffocating in, giving you enough room to breath and to escape this terrible situation.
Food Increment - Imagine the situation, you are in a cavern and you forgot to bring food, you are starving, you can't run anymore and a huge amount of mobs comes to kill you. You will probably gonna die, and when it happens the Totem will grant you an increment in your hunger level, just enough to give you energy to run a little bit. Using it alongside Totem Knockback and you will be able to escape safely. (Only below beta 2.0.0)
Effects Rework - Now the effects are only granted when you need them. This affects only the Water Breathing effect (added by the mod) and the Fire Resistance effect. They will be granted when you drown and when you are on fire respectively.
As for version 1.1.0 of this mod you can now add custom effects when the Totem is activated, it let's you set when and which effect will be granted.
Now you know what are the main features of the mod, but there is much more, if you dig through the config file you will see what I'm talking about. As examples: you can blacklist dimensions or even structures where you don't want the Totem to work, you can enable the Totem to work from your inventory, you can enable a cooldown to make it less op, etc. Everything is configurable, that way you can have the mod working exactly how you want.


This mod has built-in compatibility with Curios API/Trinkets API, letting you use the totem from the charm slot.
As soon as I'm aware, this mod is compatible with any other mod and will not bring any issues, including Charm of Undying even though not recommend to use alongside this mod since I have my own implementation of it's functionality.
