If you want some tech in your pack but don't want pipes and wires - this is it. A perfect fit into unthemed or magic-themed pack.

It's not vanilla-plus with all magical stuff, and it's not for everyone... but for a good reason - Botania will challenge your planning skills, engineering sense and intelligence.

Maybe you don't want tech mods but tree farms are so helpful - Botania has you covered. Farms and small contraptions are doable and if you don't know what you're looking at - it looks like pretty flowers and some particles doing things around them.

Botania is one of the most well-designed magic mods in minecraft. While the gameplay and mechanics are slow (although rewarding), and some people may not like the design choice to have non-numerical mana, it has some of the most unique and fun mechanics in modded minecraft. Absolutely recommend trying it if you haven't already.

Botania is one of the most well-designed magic mods in minecraft. Botania is a tech mod themed around natural magic. Gameplay is centered around creating magical flowers and devices using Mana, the power of the earth. Botania is fully playable as a standalone mod (and is designed as such), but it functions just well in conjunction with other mods.

The mod focuses on automation, but without elements that make it feel grindy-- systems can be thought out and designed, rather than built blindly from blueprints in JEI or a wiki.

Botania's design philosophy

  • No pipes, wires, etc-- they're boring and overdone;
  • No GUIs-- interact with everything in-world;
  • No numbers-- players shouldn't try to minmax everything;
  • Keep all resources as renewable as possible;
  • Provide pleasing visuals, despite using only two different particle effects.

Botania's goals

  • Break the mold of mods being means to ends-- be engaging in gameplay as well as in rewards;
  • Deliver fun and balanced gameplay without forcing players to grind;
  • Incentivize sandbox gameplay and allow players to create fun contraptions;
