About
Description
The purpose of this mod is solely to fix a very specific Minecraft bug (https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-186626). I needed the ability to assign dimensionally-specific weather conditions for a different mod I'm working on called Immersive Backrooms, but I figured I'd put it out here as a stand-alone mod in case other people need this feature as well and can't wait for Mojang to fix it.
Fabric dependencies: Fabric API
Quilt dependencies: Quilted Fabric API
Forge dependencies: nothing, I think
Note that only versions 1.1 and above support Quilt cross-compatibility.
25 May 2026 addendum: Support for 1.20.1 Forge has also been added.
Important note: At the moment, this mod only works for standard vanilla weather cycles including rain, thunder, and clear. Additionally, this only works for dimensions that have weather in the first place. Setting has_skylight to false or has_ceiling to true in the relevant dimension type JSON file disables vanilla weather entirely, rendering this mod ineffective. In other words, your dimension of interest must have a vanilla weather cycle in the first place in order for this to work. See https://minecraft.wiki/w/Dimension_type for details.
