Description
Dyeable Ropes adds 16 dye-colored rope variants for Simulated rope strands, one per vanilla dye color.
In vanilla Aeronautics (the bundled Simulated module), every rope strand is the same brown. Run multiple ropes between holders, winches, or contraptions and there's no way to tell them apart at a glance, no way to mark one as "this is the brake line" or "this one feeds the cargo hold." Ropes can be hung in any color you want, as long as it's brown.
This mod fills that gap with two ways to color a rope:
Crafting -> place any rope (plain Simulated rope or one already colored) and any dye in a crafting grid to produce that color
Right-click in the world -> hold a dye, look at a placed strand, right-click to recolor it on the spot; one dye is consumed per recolor
The color sticks to the strand, not the item that placed it, so:
- The strand itself tints in-world
- The rope knot on every rope connector block matches the strand color
- The rope coil on every rope winch block matches the strand color
- When the strand is broken, the matching colored rope is what drops back (not plain rope)
- Colors are saved with the world and resynced to clients when they walk into range or rejoin, so they survive saves, dimension changes, and multiplayer disconnects
Re-dyes chain freely: a red rope plus blue dye produces a blue rope, no need to revert to plain first.
