Nether Portal Configurator

💡 Nether Portal Configurator is a lightweight mod intended to be used by pack devs, map makers, server owners etc.

With this mod you can change how Nether Portals are activated and gate them to your hearts content! This is not meant to be used in Survival Mode without first being configured!

Do you ever feel like getting to The Nether is a bit anticlimactic? It's fine the first 100 times but after that it becomes a chore, keep your players on their toes with Nether Portal Configurator!

This mod allows you to get creative and change a core part of the Minecraft progression by adding an extra step to opening a Nether Portal.

You can make it as tedious, challenging or easy as you'd like by simply changing one config line.  

💬 Uses

• Select an item in the config, by default it is a Nether Star. Which of course makes no gameplay sense! That is because you need to set your own!
• When the player gets that item they can activate a Nether Portal!
• Without the item the player is prevented from activating a Nether Portal by flint and steel or lightning.
• When the player opens their first Nether Portal, they are given an advancement which allows them to open portals unrestricted. Essentially you only need the item once. 
• Why did I make this mod? Because there are similar mods but none that do exactly what I wanted, from what I could find anyway. So I just made my own.

 This was designed to be used in the upcoming modpack, MC Eternal 2.
