Description

Beginnings

The new Nether Reactor Core is crafted with four diamonds, four iron ingots, and a nether star as shown in the recipe image in the files, and can only be activated when placed in the proper formation with four gold blocks and fourteen cobblestone (as shown in the next picture). When the structure is properly built, right-click the core to unleash the power of the Nether into your world!

Infection

Once right-clicked, the Nether reactor will become active, turning red and converting its housing into unbreakable Glowing Obsidian. You will hear a hum and see Nether-like particles as the infection begins to spread throughout your world. Spreading from a radius around the reactor, Overworld blocks will gradually become infected and eventually convert into their Nether counterparts. ((This includes the ability to convert rare blocks, such as diamonds into Ancient Debris.)) The longer this goes on, the faster the infection will spread. Mobs (including Players without boots!) standing on infection blocks will gain the new Infected debuff, afflicting them with Wither II and converting them into Nether mobs upon death. The infection only spreads to natural blocks, so most of your structures or builds should be safe.

Ending the Infection

Once you've decided you've had enough of converting your world, you can halt the infection's spread by simply breaking the Nether Reactor Core. However, beware... it has the same hardness as Reinforced Deepslate! Upon breaking the core, the infection will stop spreading (previously-infected blocks will still continue converting), and you'll receive the core back in item form to be used again.

Enjoy this mod, and if it gets enough support, I'll publish it on CurseForge/Modrinth as well!

This mod was made with MCreator 2025.3.
