Recruits Use Boomsticks is a standalone compatibility mod that allows crossbowmen from Villager Recruits to use weapons from Medieval Boomsticks.
Crossbowmen can find, equip, reload, aim, and fire supported weapons using dedicated combat AI. The integration includes physical ammunition handling, reload and firing animations, projectile spawning, durability loss, sounds, smoke effects, and protection against friendly fire.
Supported weapons
- Handgonne — uses Round Balls
- Arquebus — uses Round Balls
- Spiked Handgonne — fires three Round Balls
- Arbalest — uses Heavy Bolts

- Dedicated AI for Medieval Boomsticks weapons
- Physical ammunition is always required
- Vanilla-style ballistic compensation for long-range Arbalest shots
- Persistent reloads that are not cancelled by damage or target changes
- Mounted firing and reloading
- Friendly-fire protection for allied recruits
