RTS Map Command Recruits is an addon for the Recruits mod that gives you Total War-style map control over recruit armies: one map icon can represent a full group, with click-to-move, waypoints, formation control, combat commands, and strategic fire control.
Group-Based Map Commanding:
- Each recruit group appears as a single tactical icon on the world map.
- Split group handling: if members are far apart, they can appear as separate controllable sub-groups.
- Movement arrow/path rendering from current position through queued waypoints.
- Smart Group Visuals
- Uses each group’s configured image/icon (from group setup).
- Relation outline colors:
- Your groups: Green
- Allies: Blue
- Neutral: Gray
- Enemies: Red
- Icon size scales better with map zoom.
Multiplayer-Safe Order System:
- Server-authoritative orders and validations.
- Selection/order stability improvements for moving/splitting groups.
- Stuck orders/arrows auto-cleaned to prevent command-lock states.
How To Use (Map Controls):
Selection & Basic Orders
- Left Click group icon: select group
- C: clear selected group
- Right Click map: move selected group
- Shift + Right Click: queue waypoints
Attack & Fire Commands
- Ctrl + Right Click on enemy group icon: attack that group
- Ctrl + J + Right Click on map: strategic fire at that position
- Ctrl + K: hold/cancel strategic fire for selected group
Behavior / Stance (selected group)
- 1 = Passive
- 2 = Neutral
- 3 = Aggressive
- 4 = Hold Fire
- 5 = Fire At Will
- 6 = Wander movement mode
Formation Controls
- Ctrl + Tab: cycle formation
- Ctrl + Shift + Tab: cycle formation backward
Numpad direct formation binds:
- KP1 Circle
- KP2 H Circle
- KP3 Square
- KP4 H Square
- KP5 Line
- KP6 Triangle
- KP7 V Form
- KP8 March
- KP9 No Formation
Other UI Controls
- Tab / Shift+Tab: cycle selected groups
- U: toggle map overlay text
Visibility & Command Limits
- Groups must be in the correct world/dimension and visible per server-side checks.
- Commanding can be limited by configurable radius from player.
- Visibility/control behavior respects render-distance-style constraints for fairness.
Configurable Server Settings
In the server config:
- commandRadiusBlocks – max command distance from player to group anchor
- arrivalDistance – waypoint completion distance
- continueMarchWhenInCombat – continue marching vs stop-and-fight behavior
