About
Description
Chat Disabler is a server-side mod that completely disables the text chat for all regular players, reserving it exclusively for server operators. Designed for servers implementing alternative communication systems like voice chat, this mod enhances roleplay immersion by removing modern instant messaging from the game world.
The mod operates silently on the server side. When a player attempts to send a message, the server checks if the player has operator status. If the player is not an operator and the message is not a command (starting with "/"), the message is simply discarded without being broadcasted to other players. No notification or error message is shown to the sender—the text just vanishes from their chat input field. This creates a clean, unobtrusive experience where the absence of chat feels natural. All commands continue to function normally for every player, ensuring administrative and gameplay functionalities remain intact.
Installation requires only the server. No client-side installation is necessary, making it easy to deploy on any server. This mod is ideal for hardcore survival, roleplay, historical, or realism-focused servers where global text chat breaks immersion and where alternative, in-lore communication methods are encouraged.
