Description

This FABRIC mod adds an Origin based off of the Sky Kid in Sky: COTL. The Sky Kid origin works similarly to how it does in the original game, with reasonable adaptations from original game mechanics.
Please keep in mind that this mod is still in early development, meaning anything is subject to change or break, and that I am still open for suggestions and ideas.
 
Origin
With the stars united, our light was infinite. But darkness came and the stars fell. A long time has passed... wake up Child of the Light, your adventure begins now.
 
Powers
+ Born of the Light +
You store Light inside of yourself, which can be recharged from certain Light sources, with candles on cakes being the most efficient. Light can only be recharged by three sources at a time, with more efficient light sources taking priority.
 
— Not of the Darkness —
You lose light when wet in colder/swampy biomes.
 
— Night Light —

You can't sleep in darkness.

— Fear of the Unknown —

You are weaker in dark areas unless holding a decent light source. As well, the Darkness effect from the Deep Dark tarnishes your Light.

 
+ Light Cape +
With the power of your Light, you can glide with a special cape. While gliding, you can press the space bar to use a portion of your light to boost yourself forward a small amount.
 
% Sky's Call %
Your primary ability will make a calling sound, which briefly makes you glow unless you're crouching. As your secondary ability, you can spend a considerable portion of your Light in order to heal allies around you!
 
— Childish Aspects —
You are a child. Therefore, you are delicate and petite, having only three hearts. You can consume Winged Light to increase your hearts to six, but that resets when you die. Whenever you respawn, your height may vary a bit.You will always be just short enough to fit in one block gaps when crouching.
 
+ Divine Protection +
Your Light serves as a shield from damage, using up Light whenever it has to protect you. The amount used varies by the amount of damage taken. If your Light runs out, you will be able to take actual damage.
 
% Fire Adept %

You are immune to all fire damage, however, lava is much more harmful.

  
— Free Spirit —
Your flight is hindered by chest and leg pieces, so you've instead done away with them. Besides, physical armor doesn't protect your Light.
 
— Bulky and Unwieldy —
Due to your small hands and short stature, shields are too bulky and unwieldy for you to actually use.
 

% Ethereal Form %

As a Child of the Light, your ethereal form is incompatible with the magic of Fire Resistance, making it unusable. Your sustenance from the light also makes you immune to Hunger and Poison.

 
Items:

Winged Light

Winged Light is used to increase the Sky Kid's max health up to six hearts. Winged light has a chance to drop from Phantoms when a Sky Kid kills them.

 
Capes
There are nine capes that can be obtained from Phantoms, with a 2% chance for a random cape to drop if the Phantom is killed by a Sky Kid. All of the capes are the basic colored capes from the game that, when equipped, change the color of the Sky Kid's wings.
 
 
 
Origins, Pehkui, and Fabric API are all required to use this mod properly.
