The Witcher - An Origins Addon:

Inspired by The Witcher series of books and games, this new Origin adds a brand new way to play Minecraft. The main features of this mod include:
- New Origin: Witcher
- Five Witcher signs with unique effects - Igni, Aard, Axii, Quen, and Yrden.
- Two types of sword, Silver and Steel, only craftable by Witchers, with varying degrees of upgrades.
- Several armour sets unique to Witchers alone.
- Seven Witcher's potions, with useful effects and a toxicity mechanic.
- 39 contracts related to vanilla Minecraft mobs, which allow you to hunt these foes and return their trophies to villagers for rewards.
- And more!
General outline of the Witcher's powers:
+ Has access to five unique signs, which can be selected via a radial menu, and cast with a separate key.
+ Has the ability to dash in eight directions.
+ Has access to crafting recipes for Witcher specific weapons, armour, materials and potions.
+ Can craft Witcher Swords, which deal more damage to an enemy when enhanced with Blade Oils.
+ Can craft refillable Witcher potions, which apply useful effects. Refill by sleeping beside a campfire with Alcohest in your inventory, or by interacting with a brewing stand while holding an empty potion vial and Alcohest in your inventory.
+/- Toxicity mechanic that increments by imbibing Witcher potions. Higher toxicity values will increase the Witcher's strength, but will apply negative effects until you reach an overdose threshold.
+ Can receive a contract from a contract board (craftable) once per day. Killing the Mob on the contract using the correct sword will reward you with its trophy.
+ Contracts can be exchanged for another of the same rarity by interacting with a contract board.
+ Returning trophies to a villager will grant you various rewards, experience and upgrades.
- Witchers are only able to wear chainmail, leather, or Witcher armour. They do not wear helmets at all.
- Witchers cannot use a shield.
- Witchers mine 20% slower than a regular human.
- Witchers are more vulnerable to magic attacks.
- Witchers will be debuffed temporarily upon passing through a Nether Portal.
If you have Patchouli installed, you will receive a extensive guidebook on how to properly use this Origin when you select it. Refer to that for more details!
Only Origins and Fabric API are required to run this mod, but if you do not have the other three dependencies you will lose access to features within the mod. Extra Origins is responsible for the sign radial menu, Origins Keybinds allows you to use all the abilities of the Witcher, and Patchouli provides the guidebook on spawn.
I have no immediate plans to add major updates to this mod as of 12/10/2022. I may periodically return to this mod to update it after Origins has had several updates, or I have a good idea for additions and find some free time.
You have my permission to use this mod in any modpack or server if you choose to. I do ask that you do not modify, reupload or directly monetise this mod, though this is not enforced. Hope you enjoy playing this Origin! I will not be porting this mod to Forge or backporting to earlier versions of Minecraft. Sorry!
