Sol's Obscure Tooltip
Adds a sols_obscure_tooltip:sols_rarity item filter and matching label provider to Obscure Tooltips, so its tooltip panels, frames, glow effects, and rarity label follow Sol's Item Rarity tiers instead of only vanilla rarity.
Why this exists
Sol's Item Rarity never touches vanilla Rarity — it keeps its own seven-tier system (Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythical, Supreme), stored in item NBT and resolved live through its own API. Obscure Tooltips' built-in rarity filter only reads ItemStack.getRarity(), so on its own it can never react to Sol's tiers — and a plain NBT-based filter would still miss fixed-rarity items (relic cores, etc.) that never carry that NBT tag at all. This addon bridges the two by calling Sol's rarity resolver directly.
Mapping
| Sol's Item Rarity tier | Obscure Tooltips style |
|---|---|
| Common | Common |
| Uncommon | Uncommon |
| Rare | Rare |
| Epic | Rare |
| Legendary | Epic |
| Mythical | Epic |
| Supreme | Epic |
The rarity label under the item name still shows the item's real Sol tier name in that tier's own color, so it stays consistent with the recolored item name Sol's Item Rarity already draws.
Features
- New
sols_obscure_tooltip:sols_rarityitem filter (vanilla-style bucket, exact tier, any, orany_above_common) usable in any Obscure Tooltips resource pack, plus a matching label provider - Ships its own tooltip panel/frame/glow styles (in the spirit of Obscure Tooltips' built-in Vibrant Tooltips look), so it works whether or not that pack is enabled
- Each rarity style respects Obscure Tooltips' own per-rarity config toggle — turn off "Epic style" in Obscure Tooltips' config and the Sol-driven Epic look turns off too, no extra config needed
- Client-side only; safe to install on a server, where it simply does nothing
