Description
Savaru's Curtain
Summary
Hide unfinished terrain behind a smooth fade when joining a world or teleporting, with adjustable timing and optional custom loading artwork.
Description
Let the world arrive before the view does.
Savaru's Curtain covers the game view when you enter a world, change dimensions, or make a detected teleport. It waits for nearby chunks to load and terrain rendering to finish, then smoothly fades back into the game.
A smoother arrival
- Conceal unfinished terrain during world entry and detected teleports.
- Reveal the view with a smooth fade once nearby terrain is ready.
- Set a maximum wait so the curtain can lift even if loading remains incomplete.
Make it fit your modpack
Adjust world-entry and teleport effects separately, including fade durations, minimum hold time, maximum wait, the surrounding chunk radius to check, and the movement distance used to detect teleports.
Prefer artwork to a plain black screen? Use a local PNG or a resource texture, with cover, contain, or stretch fitting. The artwork fades with the curtain.
Settings are available through Mod Menu when installed, or in config/savaru_curtain.json.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.21.1, Fabric, and Fabric API.
- Client-side only; no server installation is required.
- Mod Menu is optional.
The curtain changes how loading is presented; it does not speed up chunk loading. Teleports are detected from world changes and movement exceeding the configured distance threshold.
